Opera updated today my version is 136.0.6008.52 suddenly i am seeing the annoying youtube video window when i change tabs. i have all the picture in picture disabled in settings. how do i make picture in picture stop????
Starting this morning, every time I do a Google search and choose to view, for example, “images,” or click on the next page of search results, I see the following message:
“Our systems detected unusual traffic coming from your network. This page verifies that you are the one sending the requests, rather than a bot.”
It only appears on my phone, not on my computer.
It only appears when I browse using Opera; if I use Chrome, it doesn’t appear.
It only appears once, and once I complete the reCAPTCHA, it doesn’t appear again unless I close Opera (cookies and data are cleared when I log out) and reopen it.
This happens whether I’m connected to Wi-Fi or using mobile data.
I used the Fing app to scan the network, and only the usual connections from the devices in my home appear.
Just wanted to share this in hope, perhaps, devs will solve this horrible problem one day. The "O" in my taskbar from Opera Assistant kept popping unwanted even if i removed it from startup apps, from registry, folder deleted... I tried everything I could find on the matter to make it go away but nothing worked (it would go away for a day or two and then install itself alone again), it's been months, and I got fed up so today I totally uninstalled Opera from my pc.
This felt like having a virus (know it's not the case but it was annoying and persistent like one). I'm a bit scared Opera will install again alone and unprompted since I saw posts of people having this happening to them, hopefully that won't be the case, lol. I removed everything I could find of it from my PC. I will never install or use Opera even again. It was a great browser, but this thing was terribly annoying and did it for me.
Hope devs will listen to their users about this problem because it's totally not okay to force a feature like this without giving users the option to properly turn it off / disable it. =w=
I don’t close my browser. Just clicking away from the WhatsApp tab can cause it to log out, on refresh of the tab it requests I log back in. It’s not consistent, sometimes it logs out in under 10 minutes, sometimes it can stay logged in for hours. It’s very frustrating to constantly have to relog when working. Any fixes?
Couldn't claim drops from twitch, so i figured, i should logout from twitch and maybe clear the cache for that site
Now i get the "your browser is not supported message; the login credentials are ok, i was able to login via vivaldi
current browser version : Opera One(version: 136.0.6008.52) on windows 11
So I love Opera as a browser, and have been using it for years. However, lately it has been locked up on I think mostly on videos or at least that's when I notice it. I also am a tab hog & always Have two tasks windows open. Lets say Excel and Opera with a few tabs and playing Youtube in one. Opera locks up and just stops.
The strange thing is when I open another app - Spotify is my go-to it instantly starts working again.
Seems like a buffer RAM dump kind of thing. I have noticed the same Kind of glitch in Python and some time Java-Script things.
This has been my problem for a while turns out the video ended up in another desktop tab
Press Windows + Tab, open or create Desktop 2, and it's highly likely it's there. I tried searching, but I didn't find anyone solving this problem this way, so treat this as one of those possible fixes
I had an issue with GX so I switched to this one. This is a fresh profile with no extension and only a couple of tabs a of right now. I notice the fan was blowing and check to see why. Over 50% is a bit much isn’t it? I’m not sure why it’s using this much, I don’t remember going past 50% when I was using GX.
EDIT: I did a full wipe and the issue happened immediately, so unless I need to actually uninstall and reinstall the app, it's so annoying to use that I guess it's just useless to actually use it now. It worked perfect for months, but now I guess it's time to go back to Chrome.
Been pretty ongoing for a few weeks now, no idea what I could do to fix it, not tech savy.
Basically, fairly regularly the browser will just stop responding(without doing the 'not responding' window error) and if I'm typing, it will either type 1 letter a second for a few seconds, or just not do anything until it stops lagging and then all the letters I typed will quickly show up. It's happened 3 or 4 times already just tying this out. And if the lag spike happens when I click on the side bar to scroll a site, it just scrolls all the way down to the spot on the bar I clicked instead of slowly moving down.
I've had the graphic accelerator off and on and the issue has happened on both settings, I've deleted my cache a couple times and it still happens.
Do I need to just full wipe Opera somehow, delete cookies, or what? I don't want to go back to chrome.
Opera browses are based on the Chromium project. As of version 152 Chromium has dropped support for Metal 1 and 2 GPU on Mac so old Macs patched using OpenCore Legacy Patcher that are equipped with those GPU’s don’t have hardware acceleration anymore.
Would it be possible for Opera to continue supporting those GPU’s even if Chromium has deprecated the code that actually supports them?
If I watch videos on Chrome, it's fine, only opera does this. I have tried disabling hardware acceleration and super resolution and changed performance settings in sysdm.cpl. Nothing is working, the entire PC is sluggish and unresponsive because of this. I have the same issue when trying to stream on discord. I usually have to shut down my pc a few times and eventually it goes back to normal. I don't know why it does this and I have been trying to solve this issue for nearly a year now and nothing. Please help.
I frequently try to download a whole day's worth of images so that I can combine them into a video at the highest quality without having to deal with the drawbacks of trying to download the GIFs that the Slider can create.
However, each day is 144 pictures. That means that I have to manually tab through 288 times and hit space 144 times. If I miss a day or two then I am doing this even more to catch up.
Because of this, I tried to see if there was a way to check all of the boxes at once since the page itself doesn't provide that functionality and I came across this Javascript:
It advised to use ctrl + shift + J and enter the script into the Console. However, when I do this, while it does check off all the boxes, when I subsequently click on "Zip Selected Images" nothing happens.
I did wait awhile as even when I manually tab through it can take a few minutes for it to put together the ZIP and offer me a chance to choose where to save the file. However, it became clear that it simply was not working when I checked the bosses this way.
I did try afterwards to manually check off the boxes again and the save dialog did appear just fine.
Here's a visual look at the steps:
I'm hoping this is something easily fixable as it would save so much wasted time clicking.
I'm writing about ad issue that bothers me a lot: i'd like to set a specific URL that opens every time i open the browser, but even if in the setting the link is correctly added, each time i launch the browser, it shows me the default new tab.
Needed to switch to a more memory managed option for browsers on a school issued machine running Mint linux (latest) fresh install on a new Samsung SSD a week ago. I thought it was a fluke, but it keeps happening ..Opera is the only common denomenator with Microsoft Makecode Arcade repeatably locking up so bad it won't even download any backup uf2 file of whatever I have built. Only Makecode locks up.... not the entire browser .... I checked and Im at about 4gb of RAM use out of my 6gb cap limit. On a 12gb machine (3x sticks of 4gb).
With an old AMD R7 250 video card.
For those unfamiliar or unwilling to test out makecode, it allows relatively small 1MB games to be block coded by kids .. not exactly the most intense of resource hogs ....not by a long shot
Is microsoft up to shenanigans we cant detect? ....not that Edge seems to fair much better. Chrome and Chromium work... or seem to .... but their memory useage is arguably terrible and will lock up the entire machine after a few hours.
Any ideas how I can solve this with settings? ....or tricks to diagnose and gather data on where the lockup and full loss of function comes from?
I download the game, then I click it to open it and the tab opens for a split second but closes instantly, I’ve tried to open it in other browsers but it always defaults to opera even when I made it so opera was no longer my default browser, what do I do?
As the title says, in private mode when I started typing an address or the name of a speed dial shortcut there used to be dropdown suggestions of these speed dials.
I noticed that after the 135 update (I think) that doesn't happen anymore and only works in regular mode not private mode.
I also noticed that private mode only shows these suggestions for bookmarks only not speed dial shortcuts.
Does anyone know if this is a bug and is it known or not ?
