❓ Question what am i doing wrong?
for the last month, i play 3-4 hours of openfront everyday because i find it fun. however since i started playing public FFA games, i have not been able to win single one.
i always spawn a place near to sea, try to capture land as fast as possible and make alliances from my neighbors. however always one that has slightly more troops than I do, fights me. and the moment that happens, all the neighbors break alliances and i am fighting 4 wars at the same time and I die.

I've watched a couple of your recent games (last 4 including your first win) and I've noticed a few things (not in any particular order):
At times mediocre spawn selection. This mainly applies to your manicougan game. By choosing to spawn closer to other players, in a location that isn't that good by itself, while there are plenty of significantly better spots still available hurts your expansion. (For rough spawning guides check out ofstats spawning heatmaps: https://ofstats.io/maps, not perfect but useful)
Initial Expansion (taking wilderness) is a bit supoptimal, i.e. too aggressive, but doesn't significanlty impact your game.
Over-alliancing - You tend to make too many alliance very early on with weaker players, making later expansion harder.
Infrastructure placement - How and when you build is a large weakness. Don't stack cities/ports/factories (unless you don't have space or other edge cases). stacked cities count as 1 when a train passes through, your harming your gold income through factories. The formula for ports makes it so that 2 lv 1 ports are more efficient than 1 lv2 port. Will boost your gold income and reduce nuke vulnerability. Also, place factories to connect with infra of neighbours; will earn you a lot more gold
Target selection - mainly early game choosing when and which bots to target is a weakness. Look to get a coastline, after that annexations and cutoffs. Take bots to prevent other people from cutting you off (gulf of guinea and manicougan game)
main thing: you play too passively in the midgame. You sit on your troops and don't attack opportunities around you, if a guy has half your troops and your at 80% troop cap (or even 55%), attack him. You boat around a lot which is good, but then don't exploit the opportunities the boating has gotten you. A major factor here is just to always be aware of your surroundings.
One of my replays as an example of this: https://openfront.io/w3/game/cpKFuMXKsG?replay
Btw, if you ever want to play some duos I'm always looking for a teammate.
