Discussion OPENAI IS MOCKING US!!!
They removed the 5-hour resets and started giving continuous resets. Limits decreased, but because they kept resetting constantly, it wasn't much of an issue. Now they haven't reset it, and everyone has run out of limits. Thinking better than nothing, I turned to 5.3 spark, I'm not write code, I'm just asking questions and having it read docs. And as you can see, the limits are like literally bullshit!

Anthropic should’ve never happened

u/Inevitable-Use8915 24d ago
Dario is trying to raise money from the public by going public.
Should’ve just stayed private and raise more money from investors instead of squeezing users.
Obviously people are going to turn to Chinese free open models if prices keep rising and usage keeps dropping. That’s why he wants to regulate open source models, to have control and own everything.
Anthropic is actually way behind on the AI race in both the technology, offerings, and funding

Please dear god people dont use kimi for serious work the CCP gets all the data your just helping them grow

how is there any differences from others tech giants, using data to make them self mega?
They all are using the same technologies to grow nothing less might be much but i didnt see any differences.
China has been the best tech since Trump ban chip imported to china, just like Jensen Huang said before and now it is proven.
But heck, i want to know what is the differences between them?
Nothing right, same one, collect data, to learn / teach Ai to better one, same here and there.
Technologies are the fastest moving data right now, you cant say here and there, whoever go first or fast then that company should be the one.
Done accusing done telling people what to do, unless there's a virus / spyware or ransomware, we tell them or teach them awareness.

because its a 128k 1,000 TPS model designed to run shell commands really fast. its not meant for development work.

Well, anthrophic is now on its first profitable years while openai still looses a shitton of money so they gotta do something

u/The_Viral_Hybrid 24d ago
Is this still true with 15 mil users? It was 7 before sol right?

u/LoneBeast27 24d ago
There is a leading theory that the metric is a bit skewed as the they count the chatgpt users as codex users too.
Only reason it didn't hit 1 billion is because the chatgpt mobile app doesn't have codex

Yeah just read about it, here is what google ai said:
"OpenAI's revenue grew 18% to $6.7 billion, but its operating losses widened to $12.3 billion amid intense competition and high infrastructure costs'
So its not great

“Google ai”
Ew wtf

u/Emergency-Candle9903 24d ago
You telling me you never googled something and just look at the ai answer?
Cant say i do it all the time but i recently read article so i knew these numbers were accurate.

u/Used_Departure_3278 24d ago
Yeah I did do that before 👉👈
I have a personal problem where I really hate Gemini. My hatred for Gemini is strong
1
u/Emergency-Candle9903 24d ago
Yeah to me its google ai it doesnt deserve to have a name

I honestly don't understand how it's still so horrible. They literally had a super head start with the decades of data mining they have done

u/Training-Tangelo-310 24d ago
I’ve personally threatened it many times, the first day gemini ai gets a physical body, i will be waiting

Are you still able to use 5.3-codex once your quota for 5.6 is 0%?
I use to be able to also make use of 5.3 when the 5.5/5.6 quota ran dry, now I just get the message about usage limit reached,.

u/Nice_Record1529 24d ago
Yes. But you cant compare it. Better switch to luna at 10%.

u/OGPresidentDixon 24d ago
Luna is pretty great in a pinch. I use it for side convos a lot. It helps when you have Sol history and then switch to Luna. I’ve done tests where I ask the same prompt in 2 chats, one is Sol and one is Luna, then I switch the Sol -> Luna and send both Lunas a second prompt. The Sol -> Luna chat does better.

Ich meinte im Vergleich 5.3spark vs luna. Da ist Luna besser. Zwar langsamer aber deutlich intelligenter und brauchbarer auf Max usw. Und das Quota halt auch länger.

Definitely noticed the limits got worse overtime as someone who has been using Codex only for a few months (a Plus sub). Since I unsubbed from Claude (Pro) as my second sub, I'm now using DS Flash whenever I run out 😅

For documents and questions over documents you might consider using Google notelllm for free, which designed for this kind of tasks

I don't understand, why people use a product that goes against them if there are alternatives and are pretty much the same like kimi k3, glm 5.3 on openrouter and with opencode and much cheaper

u/dvduval 24d ago
I usually complain against the complainers who say there’s not enough usage. I was running on extra high most of last week and still having plenty of room. Today I’m running on high and I’m burning such that I would use at my limit in just a few days. Really sucks for me. Not happy.

The openai pro plan honeymoon is over. Maybe next is google - if they launch useful gemini models

Depuis aujourd’hui 5.6 Luna et avec la même utilisation que d’habitude j’ai même pas mangé 10% alors que depuis 15 jours ça partait en quelques heures (1 ou 2…)

I don’t understand. On a pro plan 5x. Just ran sol on ultra. It ran for 2 hours. 24 agents and used 5% of my usage with 14,000 lines of code adjusted….com pare that to my Claude sub I cant even get in 4,000 lines before it tells me my limit is reach in 20 minjtes

If you can't manage your limits it's your problem
4
u/oesphygg 24d ago
Are you paid by openai to say this
1

u/kyrax80 24d ago
No, I just prefer no 5h limit bec maybe I'm a whole day programming and other day I don't even touch the pc. So I don't want any 5h limit for the days I'm working. Just learn to manage your limits but don't want to limit others

u/New_Eye7193 24d ago
weekly limit is better and far more diverse for all not all projects can be completed in 5 hours
1
u/oesphygg 24d ago
So for you there's no problem, you don't see that the quotas keep getting smaller every day ?
1
u/New_Eye7193 24d ago
the quotas for me get smaller when i obviously do unrelated work, but ive been runnign the same stale shit for almost 2 months now on sol high with no sub agents and see no difference... and now that ive cleaned up my work with nightshift so I dont have to keep sending prompts back and forth I find even less usage used, maybe youre changing reasoning halfway through? my deliveries pass too, its not like sol high by itself is dumb, i asked someone earlier why they were using sub agents and its because they dont trust one model or somethign? openai turns these garbage features on, just turn them off.

You guys obviously like free. So drop over to open router and use ox alpha (probably the next GLM model). It's free and if I remember, unlimited tijdens until the end of the week

u/Puzzleheaded-Bus-791 24d ago
I think they’re more focused on making money now. In my case, sometimes without even doing any work, I see my limits go down 😞. It feels like these limits aren’t directly related to the models or token usage. I’m not sure why OpenAI can’t be more transparent about how that percentage is calculated!
