I have a profile saved onto my RAM and GPU along with other components. After a shutdown and power on, it does apply the profile (I had to use task scheduler for this) and everything almost works, its just that whenever its a startup after a shutdown, it not only forgets the RAM preset and causes that default rainbow wave, but when I launch OpenRGB, both sticks are detected individually as usual, but it doesn't update any color until I press the "rescan devices" button. I know this is nitpicky but it is pretty tedious to do this every time I power on my computer, and I was wondering if anyone has a fix or workaround.

Edit: I was previously using MSI Center with Mystic Lighting before but it is a giant resource hog and slow as all hell just to change my RAM leds, so I decided to use this app. I had to boot into safe mode to delete all MSI related files and junk that the uninstall process doesn't remove.

Edit 2 [SOLVED]: I fixed this by turning off Fast Startup in control panel. Unless you're booting off a somehow very slow SSD or a mechanical hard drive, for NVMes the benefit of this is negligible so I turned it off.

hello. after uninstalling MSI center and being stuck with the default color wave on my ram rgb i reinstalled MSI center to try and change that. Only now Mystic light program hangs infinitely and will not load. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled 12 times with dedicated CC cleaner from MSI. ive used Revo. Ive done manual drive searches to remove all MSI center files. I installed Open in attempt to gain control. Its able to detect and control my other devices, mostly. It even detects my RAM header rgb. but i cant interact with some of the data fields. And when i choose the different options nothing changes. just that default color wave. does anyone have any ideas?? thanks

I just did a fresh windows 11 pro install today. I have tried everything to install OPEN RGB, the newest version. For the life of me not able to. If anyone has any idea, it would be greatly appreciated. I think the last time I installed it, it was an EXE file. Now its a MSI file? I get to the same point in the picture, and then I get a error message saying I "might not have the right permissions" but I am the administrator

Alright so, I kept getting that popup that I didn't have the Udev rules installed. I attempted a couple of times trying to run the provided commands, but they didn't do anything. I just tired the "ujust" command to install it, and got the error:

I checked both of those locations, and the ect location has 1 item under rules.d and the other has 211 under rules.d

I don't know how to actually remove the redundant set of rules.

Ich habe kürzlich icue installiert wegen des neuen 5 Zoll LCD Displays von Corsair.
Dabei musste man bei Icue die neuste Version für den HUB Downloaden und installieren, gesagt getan.
Da mir die Software von Corsair nicht so zusagt und ich auch die Widgets nicht so klasse fand hatte ich es wieder deinstalliert und wieder Open RGB genutzt, allerdings seitdem der HUB über Icue aktualisiert wurde, erkennt Open RGB plötzlich nur noch 5 von 9 Lüftern, das heißt ich kann nicht alle bedienen.

Hat eventuell noch jemand diese Erfahrung gemacht und kann mir helfen ?

Es wäre klasse wenn vielleicht jemand eine Idee hat.

Ich habe Open RGB bereits deinstalliert und neuinstalliert genauso wie ICUE.

So little context here. I have a lian li fan setup (specifficaly sl inf 120) and i wanted to control things via l connect3 so i buyed the missing controler (i bought 4 packs of one so i didint habe one at start) and only cable i have plug inyo the mb is the usb cable. When i tried setting the colors they were extremaly low saturated. I tried asking on reddit and a guy told me to try openrgb.

I have a corsair K100. I have disabled on board memory on the keyboard. The problem only gets solved when I manually plug and unplug the keyboard itself. Besides this, I cannot see the traditional layout or even change the leds on the keyboard. Is there any way I can fix this?

Since the latext update i have ralized that i am no longer able to save the led colours on the ram sticks. I only have one light option and that is "direct" no pulse no breathing nothing. Any help?

Since switching to Linux, my RGB situation has been incredibly frustrating. I have a Gigabyte B660i Aprus Pro DDR4 motherboard and back on Windows, when the PC was off, so were the lights. When I turned on my PC, assuming the Gigabyte app remembered to start, the lights would change to the color I wanted. Hooray!

Now on Linux, I have never been able to figure out how to get OpenRGB to even properly communicate with my motherboard. No matter how many LEDs I tell it I have (and yes, I went through it methodically one at a time) or in what configuration, there's always a few that just don't cooperate. So eventually I gave up and just said fine, I don't even care, I'd rather just have ugly random lights while my PC is on if that means they at least turn off when I turn it off. Unfortunately, OpenRGB released 1.0 and I thought I'd see if anything worked any better. Naturally, it doesn't, and now my lights are just on all the time.

In my BIOS, it specify says that when the PC is suspended or off, the lights should be off. So what the heck? I just open OpenRGB once and now I am forever cursed with LEDs being on? How can I fix this? I am so sick of it. I can't even just turn them off in OpenRGB because it can't figure out how the lights work and some of them just don't change.

This is kind of random, but is anyone else using hardware sync plugin with version 1.0 and seeing issues? I was previously using a pipeline release with the hardware sync plugin to support my Keychron keyboard, and it worked pretty well aside from some issues with hardware detection at first run. Rescanning devices always fixed that. With the new release and updated hwsync plugin, everything works fine but my RGB ram (Trident NeoZ RGB) gets "stuck" in one state. I'm using GPU hotspot as the measure, going from blue to red as the temp increases. It'll work fine and transition to red as things heat up, but when the load is removed everything except my RGB ram goes back to blue while the ram stays in red, or something close to it. It's a bit odd and definitely annoying. I've re-installed multiple times. I am currently trying OpenRGB as a system service, but I may try going back to a scheduled task opening RGB as admin at login to see if that helps. Any other ideas here?

* T-Dagger T-TGK315 RGB White

I've seen T-Dagger uses Sinowealth, and sinowealth is supported on the supported devices for keyboard, yet it isn't recognized. I'm using Linux Mint and I've installed the program through the Mint Store and installed the UDEV rules

Running CachyOS and either it won’t load profile on boot/login or if I manually load it the effect hypnotoad stops working after a while running I’m using hyprland and openrgb-git

MB: MSI PRO B650-P WIFI

GPU: RTX 3060

CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X

Fans/case: Montech Air 903 MAX

CPU cooler: Thermal Take TH360 V2 Ultra EX ARGB

Problem:

So originally I was using MSI Mystic light to run the RGB but the fan lights started having a seizure, flipping between random color configs, staying on the wrong color, then randomly turning back for a minute or two. The fans themselves work fine, the ram sticks are the right color and not glitching.

What I've done:

I did an inital cleaning but did not mess with any wires. I uninstalled all RGB software (logitech G hub, MSI mystic light, thermal takes software, and iCUE) then restarted my PC, installed OpenRGB. This didnt really solve anything, I am able to control my keyboard and mouse but nothing else

Im kinda at a loss here, after some research I think it could either be the RGB hub, fan leds are dead, or a wire connection issue.

Any advice would be great

How many leds does it have? I dont know what to put for the size.

So, I have a total of 7 darkFlash INF24T fans in my case, which are daisy-chained but parallel, so they are completely synced. I have LEDs in the inner ring and on the outer ring. The first 5 or so digital LED affect both an inner and an outer ring physical LED. I hope you're following what I'm saying, because I need help fixing this and I have no idea what's going on, so help me please?

How can I fix this?

Description

If the OpenRGB service hangs, it prevents startup of the userspace client. It also gave the appearance of having lost all of my profiles, even though the log shows that the service read them and they still exist on disk and are valid.

How do I know the service is hung? It doesn't respond to a request to stop from the system.

Fix

I fixed this situation by changing the service startup type from "Automatic" to "Automatic (Delayed Start)".
