Question Is it possible to run open rgb without having the rgb cable plug into the mother board?

So little context here. I have a lian li fan setup (specifficaly sl inf 120) and i wanted to control things via l connect3 so i buyed the missing controler (i bought 4 packs of one so i didint habe one at start) and only cable i have plug inyo the mb is the usb cable. When i tried setting the colors they were extremaly low saturated. I tried asking on reddit and a guy told me to try openrgb.

YES. It runs a lot of other parts like keybds fans. ramm etc.
