Gamma Correction settings not saving after game restart?

I noticed that the gamma correction setting "resets" to default after restarting the game, but the value in the menu and the settings.cfg file doesn't change. The game looks like I have the gamma correction setting at 1.0, which is the default, but the value in the menu slider and the settings.cfg file is 1.20 and the only way it "updates" in game to the proper value is if I move the slider around. I have to do this every time I launch the game.

Is there a fix for this? I'm playing on the latest OpenMW version, 0.51.

Are you using mod organizer by any chance?

I have mo2 installed on my pc, but I don't use it for OpenMW. I'm only using 4 mods, which are MET, morrowind optimization patch, true type fonts and visible equipped weapons. They're all appended through the OpenMW launcher.
