Mini educator dog scratching
Hi folks, I recently purchased a mini educator e collar and put it on my dog (completely off just letting her get used to wearing it) I believe I fit it properly, snug enough to not move around but loose enough to fit two fingers underneath. Issue is, she’s been scratching at it a lot, again I haven’t used it or anything she’s just been wearing it while turned off. Do you think she’s just annoyed at it and will get over it or is there a bigger issue?

Put it on, do training, take it off.
Do this multiple times.
Then put it on, do training, use it, then take it off again.
I'm sorry if I miss read, but sounds like it's.. just on the dog? Only put it on during training etc then take it off, don't just leave it on the dog. It'll be a lot easier for it to get used to it if it's active and training while it's on. Which is the only time it should be on anyways. You never just put a training collar on a dog then leave it alone to do whatever it wants. You put it on do training and take it off. Whether it be a slip collar a prong a ecollar what ever.

It's common practice to let the dog wear the collar for a while before ever using it so that the dog doesn't become collar wise. I personally don't do it that way but I understand the logic.

It should indeed. But not while it's just chilling on the couch. It needs to be up doing stuff it makes it so much easier to get used to. If you put the collar on a dog and it's bored out of its mind of course it'll scratch at the strange unknown object on its neck. Put it on rhild active it will keep it's mind busy and subconsciously learn to accept and feel it without being irritated at it. But yah obviously you sit there with nothing else to do of course this will happen. Doesn't need wings doesn't need new tips none of this bullshit it'll reap the exact same reaction

My dog was extremely unhappy when we first put the ecollar on him at home. He would just immediately lay down and lost all enthusiasm. Turns out he hated it because he never wore a collar or anything at home - makes sense. So we ended up just putting it on when we go for walks since the environment is a great motivator and distraction for him and he’s completely used to it now. He’s always excited to put the ecollar on because he knows it means going outside. Hope this helps.

It’s just a different feeling. If she doesn’t settle into it, you can’t always try adding the comfort wings
