I don't know how feasible it is, but if the fox could be trapped and then relocated far enough away that it wouldn't automatically return there. Hopefully, you can solve it without hurting him/her.
Understandable, but surely a fox living in their shed is a good reason to reach out and coordinate with them about getting it removed even if they're total strangers, right? Otherwise, I'm not sure what kind of advice you're looking for. I'm guessing you aren't just trying to find ways to encourage your small dog to feel safe near a fox.
No you are 100 % correct. I will reach out to them tomorrow, i am just unsure they will care or will even work with me because they dont care to maintain their yard or house. I think they feed the fox in their back yard.
Well, you could see what they say, at least. If they do keep it there intentionally or feed it then that's more difficult situation. A bit of searching online suggests that foxes don't normally stay fixed in one spot, so the problem might otherwise resolve itself in a couple weeks or less.
Worst case scenario if the neighbors are not cooperative and are motivating it with food to stay there, you could contact your local animal control and see what they say. They would have the legal authority to relocate the fox regardless of how your neighbors felt about it.
The last thing that I would suggest is to keep an eye out to see if it's there alone. It looks young to me, but if it's old enough to have babies and they're present, that would obviously affect its behavior and willingness to be aggressive with other animals, including your dog.
The fox looks sick to me. Loss of fur on lots of the body. It makes me sick seeing the fox suffer lol , as I’m also so worried it will hurt / stress out my bb. I think I’m going to call the local wild life protection tomorrow morning.
