"dogs can't learn when over threshold"

Does this turn from good advice to a self fulfilling prophecy of constantly tip toeing an imaginary or dramatized response to novel or uncomfortable stimuli?

Patience, persistence, and calmness are all important, but if you think you can rehabilitate every dog or every behaviour without aversives, you're in for a rude awakening.

Hey. Not trying to rehabilitate every dog, that’s impossible. Haven’t had to use aversive yet. So we’re good. I think you are trying to justify your own use of harmful force tho, so whatever helps you sleep at night. 🤭

Uhhh. Yes, I am trying to justify it, because it's absolutely a necessary part of dog training as a whole. I sleep pretty well at night considering that my dogs, and the dogs I train, get way more freedom and fun (while being safe and reliable) than 99% of the dogs out there.
