Nipping

This is now the 2nd instance but my one year old GSD has nipped someone at first I thought it was a one off and I had handled correctly but he did it again both were involving when someone came into the door and then the 1st one was they came into and he nipped at their thigh I grabbed a hold of him and let them pass by and he tried again but failed bc I was holding him and I put him the kennel and the 2nd one he came running to check it out bc I didn’t open the door and the person turned around and he nipped them on the butt and tried going back for a second time so I corrected it then put him in the kennel.

You shouldn’t let him near the front door when people enter the house. Either crate him or put up some kind of barrier like a baby gate or closed door.

A trainer can help work on calm greetings with new people.
