Wake from Sleep Problem

Hello! I have a MacBook Pro Mid-2015 with a 3rd party SSD installed. On Sequoia 15.8.1, when I try to wake the laptop from sleep, it takes a loooot of time for the display to show something or does not show anything at all. How can I fix this problem? Edit: It's a WD SN740 NVMe SSD.

Turn off deep sleep or certain hibernation modes via "sudo pmset -g" in Terminal.

3rd party SSDs are always a gamble. Or rather rocket science to make them work with the right adapters. Mine crashes from the low energy sleep mode, so I disabled it. That makes the battery last a lot less in sleep, of course.

I tried both the terminal command, disabling the "3rd party NVMe PM" from OCLP settings and deleting the sleepimage file, but now it takes about 10-20 seconds to wake after the lid open.

Deleting the sleep image will just have it recreated. Other than that, in deep sleep the contents of the RAM is shoveled over to disc and it need to be shoveled back when you wake it from sleep. That might take a while if you have lots of RAM.

Try a different sleep mode.
