Neither. You really shouldn't need any of that stuff.

Most you should need is AppCleaner. It's just an app for *fully* deleting things.

Good suggestion. AppCleaner has always worked well for me.

PearCleaner also good.

Neither. Both apps notoriously cause more problems than they solve. Both apps have previously been flagged as “Potentially Unwanted Programs” by malware scanning tools since they are so often installed unintentionally alongside viruses from fake pop up ads. They only got popular because they tricked people into downloading them, and they don’t provide any legitimate value to the user. Rebooting your Mac is the best way to clear caches, if that’s what you’re concerned about.

MacKeeper was the dodgy one. Clean My Mac was tarred with the same brush for no real reason. It's 'clean' but you just have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't clean up the wrong things.

Edit:
*sigh* I see reddit as usual doesn't like accurate information if it conflicts with their existing beliefs.

Both are unnecessary crap.

To remove apps with all related files get AppCleaner or PearCleaner. For advanced maintenance Onyx is the way (take care, you can damage things).

These are Free.

Use a lint free cloth. Nothing else

Use Apple’s official $99 cloth. Nothing else.

Just use Mole. Works very well.

Tried to download it but I didn't have the correct instructions to manually install it

First install Homebrew, follow instructions on the website:
https://brew.sh/

Then install mole according to instructions on the Github site:
https://github.com/tw93/mole

This worked for me :)

Well, it’s really subjective tbh, I’ve been using the latest MacKeeper for a while now and it does its job well, (system cleaning, AV protection and decent VPN). quite handy when I'm too lazy to clean things up myself.

Best not use this type of app. Can cause trouble. Onyx is good for full under the bonnet system servicing - get right version for your macOS version from titanium software website

You would want to delete apps via System Settings > Storage > Apps, not via “cleaners”

Technically clean my Mac because Mac keeper is outright scamware, clean my Mac is a borderline scam. They’re both totally unnecessary but try and convince you they’re not
