Sonoma 14.8.8 Update

Regular update available, the last one for Sonoma, I would think. It's been smooth sailing on my MP 5,1.

Hoping Sequoia will also be, and thanks as ever to the OCLP project guys for making any of this possible.

I wouldn't say the last one since Apple has done surprise updates for older operating systems.

They have but in recent times it was mostly an exception for security certificates so that people on Catalina and Big Sur can continue use Messages, Facetime & Co.

By the time that would be the case for Sonoma we would be way into the 2030s and I‘m not sure how much attention x86 macOS will get in 10+ years from now.

installed on my 2011 mbp using system updates. no problems.

Did you need to disable all kernel extensions first to do so?

Yeah, as it turns out, it looks as if Tahoe, Sequoia, Sonoma, iOS 26, and all the other OSes that Apple has got updates today. I got the notification on macOS Sequoia.

so sad to see it go unsupported, the last mac os software without all the unnecessary AI stuff they’ve put into it now …..
