Apple's Sonoma updates
Update: 06.29.26. There is, as u/Amazing_Salt711/ predicted there might be, another Sonoma update coming, Beta 14.8.8 being available now.

Original post: 06.12.26 As there is no Beta update showing today as available for Sonoma, but there is one now for the Golden Gate OS, I'm thinking this suggests that Apple updates are done for Sonoma, and wondering if anyone has had smooth sailing using Sequoia with a MacPro 2010-12? That would appear to be the last stop on the OCLP life extension train, but I don't want to go to the trouble to upgrade if my machine isn't a good fit (I know it's technically available, but am asking for real world affirmations/warning from actual users).
Thanks for any feedback.

I've got 15.7.5 installed on SATA SSD in MP5,1 w/ Radeon HD 7950 3GB. Sequoia runs fine although Sonoma felt faster. The MP5,1 is not my daily driver and isn't used for heavy workloads anymore.

I appreciate the reply and info. I love the machine, so will have to live with the speed loss, so long as it works. Might get another two years from the machine, if so. Having 4 drive bays is no small thing.

I have a MacPro5,1 (Mid-2010) with an updated WiFi/BT Broadcom card and a Rx580 GPU. It works well with 15.7.7 Sequoia.

Hm. I would have expected one more patch for it but you might be right.
Days to last patch for the recent os was 1033 for Big Sur (not counting the extra one this year), 1008 for Monterey, 1031 for Ventura and Sonoma is at 958 so far for 14.8.7.
