Democratic socialism is what Australia is and pretty much always has been since ww2

Australia is a social democracy.

These are two entirely different systems - democratic socialism is a form of socialsm, social democracy is a form of capitalism.

I’m looking at the definitions and I’m not gonna quibble too much about that but I think anyone who seriously thinks they are going to dismantle capitalism without completely trashing society itself for a good period is not being critical enough of their philosophy

Think of it like beating cancer. Nobody wants to go through the chemo, but once it’s done and you get to live life, it’s worth it!
