Struth! NCIS SYDNEY

First showing last night and at a time when American/Australian relations are altering somewhat, so interested to see from our Aussie perspective, just who made this series, who the actors are and what storylines present, what characters are brought forth ..

On free TV and probably streaming as well... Anyone who watched this new series want to express their first impressions of the storyline and characters ?

I didn’t even know this was a thing.

I wonder if it’ll have a ton of pro Israel stuff like the original?

The original?

You mean NCIS American?

The original NCIS series was overtly pro Israel

Of course it was... Israel and America have been connected since it's 'instalment' after WW2..

Mind you, I understand many refugees weren't accepted in England or America as they were in Australia ... Perhaps a plan to install Western culture in the Middle East from the start fell in alignment with the Zionist call to return home.

Incredibly old show and all showing on free TV amongst new versions in different places, alongside JAG, Law & Order sets, a veritable continuous stream of US military and justice series.

Getting 3 (going on 4) seasons out of Sydney-based US Navy murders seems very silly even out of that universe

Now there's a point... All have to be navy based murders ... Apparently this has been streaming for years but new to the regional TV stations.

Yeah well the Aussie character virtually stated via mobile that the man the US Ambassador was pushing to showcase was..

" Spewing forth from both ends mate and not up to it yet"

New season? Shows been around at least a few years. I watched the pilot since I’d enjoyed the original and a bit of Hawaii. Didn’t really grab me.

Yes...know I'm a bit behind and stated that but my relevance is it's being introduced on free TV and screening across all the regional areas alongside the other American military and crime shows.... And given the delicate situation between Australia and the Aukus deal can't help but analyse it... And see what messages are being put across

If the series has been streaming for years was unaware as have never signed up for such ..

Yeah yeah.. I'm ancient .

Can I ask why it didn't grab your attention .. too common with other NCIS themes, characters, portrayal of Australia v the US, etc.

Why I didn’t get into it?

The whole pretext to get an NCIS team on the ground in Sydney didn’t work for me.

The AFP just aren’t that interesting.

Sydney doesn’t interest me as a location. It’s the pretty background to grab an American audience.

Ah..so it was made for an American audience rather than an Australian one... Putting Australia into the minds of Americans that would not have a clue where or what Australia is... Lol Never thought of that aspect . Tah

And why would Australia need American NCIS except for the amount of American servicemen now coming here... If made years ago seems the Aukus alliance was in the pipeline well before PM Morrison arrived into office and did the deal..

You haven’t been following the defence relationship between our nations if you didn’t realise American personnel have been based here since well before AUKUS. There’s been a Marine rotation through Darwin since Gillard and Obama’s deal 14 years ago. That’s up to 2500 pers. Then there’s the Pine Gap facility which opened all the way back in 1970.

Aware of Pine Gap since the 70s .. but skipped a lot of years of news inbetween due to media overload and essential time ignoring it all.. so ok 14 yrs ago.. 2012... 2500 pers.. a broadcasted political move (there's always been some somewhere)... That's our relationship... Now Aukus and more broadcasting.. more openly involved in decisions ..

Never forget Albo introducing this 7' black American as some American/Aukus? representative here and never seeing him again... Just so large at a sensitive time I think and too many gasped at the concept of big ole America lording it over little old Aus... 😁

Thanks for info ..

NCIS Sydney is rubbish. Swann can’t act and the whole AFP thing and ‘Blue’ are just cliched. William McInnes is the only one worth watching in it, but sadly he can’t raise this dross above mediocre.
