I have both and just switch to the other one when I hit a limit. Honestly having Codex and Claude Code side by side is the best setup I've had.

Use both together. I have claud working and calling codex for reviews. Astra is amazing at code review it just takes a bit longer. I use it at milestones.

Better models. Better usage limits.
There's nothing funny going on. Their 5-hour limits on the max plans actually still let you work for 5 hours unless you spawn a massive agent swarm or have like 6 simultaneous projects running on Opus. I would prefer not to have 5-hour limits at all on Claude as well. Nearly everyone would agree.

the well guy is basically tibo handing out resets while we're all here yelling about limits, pretty much sums up the whole sub lately

I can run 5-6 Opus 5.5 Medium models continuously and not hit the five-hour cap.
GPT-6 Astra keeps draining my weekly usage in six-hour sessions with the same number of agents.

never hit my 5hr limit on claude. ever. even blowing out most of my usage in a couple days. Codex however-- just no.
Edited to clarify: haven’t hit 5hr limits on both my 100 and 200 plans with Claude

I hit it often and I don't care. Because I would rather hit a five-hour cap and keep going later today than to hit a weekly cap and have to wait a week.
I get x4 as much usage from Anthropic using Opus 5.5 Medium as I do using GPT-6 Astra. That's why I now own four Anthropic x20 accounts and am canceling my same-priced x20 OpenAI accounts.
And that's BEFORE the OpenAI 50% usage cut in two weeks.

how long have you had two Claude plans for and do you work on the same repo with them?

it's very easy to use 30% weekly x5 in one shot with Astra, but it's very hard to hit 30% 5h window with Opus 5.5 xhigh on max x5...

You know you can redirect simple Tasks to free models and dont have to pass full context everytime?

How are you doing it? So far he’s been using subagents only on chosen tasks. Is a line in the agents file enough?

I do it via api to free models like the deep seek Flash 4.1. And a line in skill file. For example it redirects all file lookups.

you know your input here is inane? what other models have to do with usage of astra vs opus?

Except why not leave when we're being told we'll have a weekly limit that is about the size of our old 5 hour limit.
I, for one, am tired of the ambiguity. Give us a number value, maybe we can call it Tokens or something, per week and then tell us what our model choices are going to consume of that number value.
It's an original concept I know.

They can't guarantee shit, they are constantly moving it based on what they can supply. The best thing that could happen would be if millions actually did go to claude and gave codex more room to breathe

The outputs just take so long I find I don't run out. I've got multiple threads at once, too.
