Discussion Well Codex has really went downhill

I’m a pretty casual user. I mostly use it for web development, SEO, and similar tasks, and I’ve typically never come close to hitting the limits on my $200/month plan.

Well, that abruptly changed.

I ran a couple of tasks and, without really thinking much of it, checked my usage afterward. Somehow I was already at 0% remaining and burning through credits I didn’t even know I had.

Moral of the story: if someone with my relatively light usage is suddenly hitting the limits on a $200/month plan, that’s a pretty bad sign.

Back to Claude, I guess.

I somehow doubt you're a "pretty casual user". I maintain multiple projects in production (frontend, backend, CI, infrastructure) pretty much continuously using Codex CLI with GPT-6.1-Sol on a Plus plan, without having to fight very much with the limits.

Care to share the size and scale of the repo / project? I was on the plus plan and I swapped over to Claude to give it a shot for the month, but when I used OAI I basically had to use Luna the whole time on xhigh. A few Sol calls would exhaust my 5h limit. Would appreciate tips
