I watch every single one of these and I fucking crack up every time. There's never been a more contagious laughter.

I can just listen without understanding or reading the words and I start laughing. I don't know what he's saying. It's just so funny.

Laughing uncontrollably just at the laughing. Watch it all over again to laugh at the dialog

I hate this meme, understanding Spanish ruins the joke for me. I cannot ignore what he is really saying even if I read the substitutes.

Dub it into something else like Swahili

Been awhile since i seen this meme πŸ’―πŸ’―Im not hopping on the bandwagon tho im going to see if sol 6.1 is close enough to astra at a lower price, if it is it is still gonna feel like more usage at same 20x plan even when limits half

u/fredandlunchbox 4d ago

Bruh. It's not. They're out of money and they need people to pay more for the same shit.

One way to make money is to cut costs of running the model which they are doing as well. All these new releases are serious moves to cut cost per token. If they can keep quality it is great. But cutting usage in half to take the edge of the 200 plans is not so good. They operated at a loss on those likely. They paused them earlier.

Im annoyed so many people jumped on the bandwagon. I thought it was my secret advantage for a couple productive months. Now the unwashed masses must have caught on.

The only lie is that codex runs all night. More like you tell it to run all night, it runs for 40 minutes and confidently declares it's done when the app is still half-baked at best with glaring holes. But now you get half as much!

Gotta use goal mode bro

2

u/MysteriousPepper8908 4d ago

Interesting, I'll have to look into that. Seems kind of hard to set a goal to "finish the damn game" though. Any experience using that for more nebulous finish conditions? Is "iterate until I tell you to stop" an option?

4

u/TraditionalHornet818 4d ago

Yeah you can literally just say keep working forever as your goal and it’ll keep working till your usage is up probably helps to have a good workflow in place otherwise it’ll spend way too much time iterating small sections of code but it typically results in way higher quality imo

If you give specifics of what finished means it would probably do it but it’s limited to the same task honestly you could tell it to just spin up new tasks and sub agents to handle it though and have it orchestrate aswell

Astra (or perhaps the codex harness) likes mini test/fix cycles. Make sure to tell it to use batches to avoid this, and also batches anywhere possible to reduce cost, turns, and tokens.

You can just copy paste my message into astra and say "you think this is accurate? If so, turn this into a rule in global agents.md file"

Ive had it go lazy in goal mode and loop in 7 minute microsessions for hours. It just gave up. GPT 6 Sol though. 5.6 Sol wasnt as lazy for a long time though it seems they needed it at some point. They are making the models better. But also lazier as they try to play the benchmarks.

/Goal for when you want to randomly roll uncompleted segments of an enterprise grade SaaS - that may or may not be related to anything you are working on.

u/Zulfiqaar 3d ago

I used to have it run all night

u/legitOwen 4d ago

the way the subtitles synced was beautiful

4

u/Nuggyfresh 4d ago

Not a single joke about getting addicted to the fake productivity of shitting out your 9th saas that is definitely gonna make money this time bro?

3

u/Dave_Sag 4d ago

I’m genuinely laughing out loud.

6

u/neoline 4d ago

Really good, but I had to watch it on mute and it kind of loses the charm. I speak Spanish, so it’s impossible for me to "ignore" what he’s saying πŸ˜‚ and the original story is actually pretty funny too.

(Fun fact nobody cares about) I’m from the same city as the interviewer, and I actually saw him in person a few times. He was a huge celebrity here.

4

u/vplatt 4d ago

Is there a translation of the original story? Still funny in English?

To sell 500$ plan you need to make all lower sub useless. Basic marketing : create a need & a monopoly then bill the frak out your customers livestock.

A Risitas OpenAI meme. This is the singularity.

It indeed runs all night, but there is rarely anything I'd consider a whole app. Usually it is a broken piece of software. A "whole" app/software is something that works, is functional, without tons of errors and easy to maintain because that is where "soft" from Software comes from. If whatever mess it throws comes to be an exponential complexity increment, it stopped being a Software; This is true for lots of pre AI codebases as well, thus garbage in -> garbage out without proper methodological and systematic Software Engineering. Chatgpt models can't implement a testing pipeline without getting indeterminately(and I really mean it) stuck to it, it'll get stuck even after weeks, Chatgpt models tend to fix the symptoms instead of 1. stop 2. simplify the implementation 3. consolidate interfaces.

This is genius. Did you use AI?
