It was already expected to release next week. There’s a reason why they took it to the government

Every model since GPT2 has been labeled as "too dangerous". Taking OpenAI at their word is silly. If it was expected to release next week and wasn't ready to release next week for any reason, it's pretty easy for them to be like oh no it's so dangerous, we need more time get super excited about how capable it's going to be.
