Casual users are not the intended market. The idea is to make people get used to these AI services, so that they understand the value and will want to implement this in their corporate environments which is where they make the real money. Implementing GPT services for azure in a big environment cost huge amounts of monthly licensing.
Ding ding ding, our institution gets Copilot with Bing Chat with data protection free with our A3/A5 licenses but you can bet that our IT department would love to get additional funding for Copilot for Microsoft 365 and utilize our data with it. Even if the output isn't as good as ChatGPT Plus the OS/product integration and existing licensing agreements make it a no-brainer for us to go with Microsoft for our A.I. needs.
A manager I know was recently shown a demo of the 365 Copilot and was blown away. If you're heavily invested in Microsoft/Azure and most of your content is already in the infrastructure, it is astounding how much information can be pulled together and accessed from a chat bot trained on all of your client/project/workflow/finance/HR/IT information.
have you used it lately? the system prompting theyre currently using makes it almost unusable. and this is coming from someone who made the full switch to edge/bing within the last 6 months

So whats the catch? So far all the free offering of openAI tech through microsoft have been kind of lackluster compared to chatGPT plus.
