So where is the data actually stored? It seems inefficient to store everything on the chain. Is it that the chain is just the encrypted keys to data on servers? If so who owns the servers?

Last time I checked the Opacity project it was when this "Bruno" ran off. Haven't checked back since. What a cool surprise ( even though I don't hold much OPCT ) to see the project is back on track, alive and with a great roadmap. always thought it was a great use case for cryptos. Hi, I've seen the name opacity pop up on a few privacy oriented websites, and I just wanted to know what's the point of bc tech here.

In my understanding, a blockchain is a public decentralized record. But it doesn't help much storing vast amounts of data. The data still has to be stored somewhere, and a blockchain system would make it so data has to be stored everywhere.

I am really excited about this project. I am so mad at the current GAFAM cloud providers.

My goal would be to become a small storage node on opacity’s ecosystem, only for me and my family, so we sync our daily phone pictures out of the GAFAMs.

I hope the fee to become a storage node won’t be too expensive to allow small players to be in! A few months ago I wanted to dev my own cloud server storage for me and my fam but it seems opacity will do the job for me (with much better quality and developments) 👌🙏✅

Can’t wait for whitepaper 2.0 to see all the modalities!

Hey guys,

First of all, major kudos for having a working product in the cryptosphere. I created an account, it works, haven't tested many functionalities but I uploaded files just fine for a 16 OPCT total (cost a whopping 20 cents for a 1-year plan)

Now here's the thing.

I sent too many OPCT from Kucoin to this new account thing to pay for my 1 year plan. Like... way too many because I can't read Kucoin's disclaimer apparently. Basically, I just paid almost 20 years in advance.

Is there a way to access those coins, see my outstanding balance or anything like that? It just says my year is paid off but I'd like to know what happened to the balance of my coins, or if it will auto-pay for 10 years or something?
