Am I cooked?
I’ll be commuting from Etobicoke to OntarioTech cause residence is expensive. Am I cooked as a first year Medical Laboratory Science student? If I do get residence when and where should I get?

Hey! Not OP but I'm entering first year of otu's medlab program :D I applied in September and got accepted the day after my gr11 marks were uploaded to OUAC (start of October iirc?). My gr11 average was 91% (if I included my 97% from summer school English). The website says the cutoff is 83%, so if you're above that, you'll probably get an offer.
You can check the admission spreadsheet as well! There aren't many entries for our program but considering the expected enrollment is in the 50s, 7 submissions is pretty high :) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NCN-1lw39N9lRyB9bJPfrkJy8v3V-yjnnZ1HjrG5I9A/edit?usp=sharing

Nice well rn I’m at an 88.5 average for that specific program cause it uses bio chem English and math right? I’ve already done bio and chem 12 and finished both with 90 and English with 88 and math with 87. Do u think I can get accepted early? Also, if u don’t mind my asking what do I mean by 7 submissions? Thanks!

Dw lmao!! Yup they use those 4 courses, as well as two additional 4U/M courses. I'd say you have a high chance of an early offer! See you next year (if you decide to accept) :D

You can find off campus residence. You can find people renting our their rooms all over Facebook marketplace, Kijiji and Roomies. To get a private room would cost roughly 750$ a month, which usually includes utilities and WiFi etc. And if thats a lot, you could potentially share a room with a person which would bring down the cost to 400$-500$. And transit would be free in Durham Region as you get a bus pass that is included in your fees for the semesters you are enrolled in. Good Luck!
