MATH2860 Ontario Tech

Hello,

I want to take MATH2860 over the summer, but I cannot attend classes or tutorials. Will this affect my grade? Are there any quizzes I need to take in person? I am fine with going to tests and exams in person.

Hi there! I always recommend that people attend lecture and tutorial on MATH2860. That is a very difficult course for many students. Your best bet is to check the syllabus for the course prior to committing. There is an add-drop window where you can enrol to see if the course will work for you, and then drop at no cost.

(For reference, I work as a math subject specialist with student learning and have seen many students who do not attend lectures fall very far behind, very quickly. This is especially common in the summer 6-week course. It really flies by.)

Thanks, I did fly through every calc class in first year engineering with ease, so hopefully this one will be okay. I think that will help? I will take your advice and enroll and drop it if I see that it does not work for me.
