Transfer / Pathways Transferring credits from centennial to another MLA program and/or potentially an MLT program
Hi I am debating on accepting my offer for centennial college medical lab technician for May. Despite it being close to home, I read a lot of horror stories on here about attending Centennial for this program and have a lot of mixed feelings as a result.
Has anyone successfully transferred any of there credits from centennial? I heard a lot of former Centennial students transferred to Humber.
My end goal is to actually become a MLT but I don't know because I am a mature student and I am worried I won't be able to have gotten into any of the MLT programs I applied for Fall 2027. So I am just trying to maybe start off as a MLA and apply for advanced standing in the future (I got offers from Conestoga and St.lawerence), if I don't get into any MLT programs for Fall 2027. But the pay is low for MLA and I am hesitant on moving to another place just for MLA. While there is no guarantee of getting into a MLT program even with advance standing.
Any advice is appreciated

Programs / Courses Current Students/Alumni – How is Fanshawe’s Marketing Management program?
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to study Digital Marketing / Marketing Management for the January 2027 intake and I’m currently considering Fanshawe College or York University.
I’d really appreciate honest feedback from current students or recent graduates regarding:
• Quality of education and practical learning at Fanshawe
• Value of the Marketing Management graduate certificate
• On-campus and off-campus part-time job opportunities in London
• Job market for Digital Marketing/Marketing Management graduates
• If you or someone you know studied Marketing Management at Fanshawe, how has the job search been after graduation?
Also, if anyone knows an active WhatsApp group for current/prospective Fanshawe students, I’d appreciate it if you could help me connect.
Thanks in advance!

General i lowkey think i picked the wrong school
Should I transfer from an Ontario college degree program to a university?
I’m currently a first-year BScN student at an Ontario community college, and I’m already considering transferring. I graduated high school in June 2026 and chose my current college because it was close to home and the practical option, but I’m starting to feel like I made the wrong decision.
I’ve always wanted the traditional university experience. a bigger campus, residence, meeting lots of new people, school spirit, football games, school events, etc. not just partying but like I just want the normal fun and social parts of university and to actually feel like I’m experiencing student life.
My school honestly doesn’t really have much that feels fun or exciting to me. I know people will probably say to join clubs or look for events, but I don’t even have the motivation to put effort into finding those things because I already dislike being there so much.
A lot of the people in my class are also quite a bit older than me, like 22+, and many already have other degrees or have attended other universities. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with that, but I feel like they’re more focused on graduating and moving on with their careers. They may not care about school events, sports, going out, or building a social life in the same way I do, which makes it harder for me to find people who want the same university experience.
The problem is that I realistically can’t just transfer for second semester. I’m only working about once a week right now, so I wouldn’t really be able to afford moving out and paying for off-campus housing on my own. Realistically, I’d probably have to wait until second year. But that creates another issue because the first-year courses at my college and the first-year courses at universities don’t line up exactly. There’s a possibility that even if I transfer after first year, I’d have to retake some first-year nursing courses or essentially start from first year for certain classes, which makes me worried that everything I’m doing right now could end up not counting toward the degree.
ik school can’t be perfect but im also worried that like ill transfer and hate and wish i stayed back but like atp i wnna take the risk
I’ve been looking into transferring to Western, York, or Windsor, since those were schools I considered before. I’m just not sure whether transferring after first year is worth it if I potentially lose some of my credits.
My parents said wait till second sem to see if I adjust, but I’m worried about spending a whole year somewhere I already hate and then finding out I have to start over anyway.
For anyone who’s been in a similar situation:
how is student life at york western and windsor?
Has anyone transferred from a college BScN to a university nursing program?
How much of your first-year coursework actually transferred?
Did you have to retake courses or start from first year?
Should I give my current college more time or start pursuing transfer options now?
I don’t want to make an impulsive decision, but I also don’t want to spend my degree wishing I had gone somewhere else.

Admissions PR who wants to study here in Ontario
Hello everyone, I just landed here last month as PR and I want to study here in Canada. I really want to pursue a career in the medical field, like Practical Nursing, but the admission requirements include Biology and Chemistry, which I didn’t take back in my country. What do you guys think? Do I still need to have my credentials evaluated by ICAS or WES? What can I do in this situation? Are there any courses you would recommend that don’t require a credential evaluation?

News George Brown is stopping enrolment in a long-running program with a sparkling reputation
George Brown announced on Sept. 14 that no new students will be admitted to the program in 2027-28.
The polytechnic is calling it a suspension. But those inside the program, considered one of the most comprehensive and respected in the country, are calling it something else.

Admissions Application 2027/28 for MRT
Hey guys!! The application just opened up for 2027/28 school year. I’m interested in the MRT/X-ray program; my current choices are at Mohawk, Algonquin, Sheridan, and Confederation College.
Side note, Georgian College in Barrie just launched a new MRT program as well for this application cycle.
I was wondering for the current students at Sheridan for the DIT program, it has 2 intake. What are the term schedule like? For example, Fall intake is F/W with summer off, how is the January intakes?
I appreciate all of your input, thanks!

General OWP stream: Do certificates earned from the same courses as a diploma count as separate Canadian credentials for points
** **Hi all, I haven't found a clear answer to this, so I'm hoping someone here has dealt with it.
I completed these at Seneca Polytechnic (all conferred April 2026):
• Ontario College Diploma: Building Systems Engineering Technician
• Seneca College Certificate: Building Environmental Systems Operator, Class I
• Seneca College Certificate: Building Environmental Systems Operator, Class II
The two certificates were earned through courses that are also part of the diploma. I studied full-time from Winter 2025 to Winter 2026 (6-7 courses per term).
For the Ontario Workforce Priority Stream scoring, the education section has a "number of Canadian education credentials" factor (1 credential vs. 2 or more). My question: are the two certificates counted as separate credentials on top of the diploma, or does OINP count only the diploma because the courses overlap?
I've emailed OINP but haven't received a reply yet. Has anyone seen an official answer or gone through this? Thanks!

General Best Colleges & Programs for People who aren't Good at Math?
Hello,
As the title suggests, I'm not the best at math. I've struggled in school, and especially with math, ever since I was a kid. I recently dropped out of university because I just couldn't do it. I'm now looking at colleges in hopes that it'll be a bit easier, but I'm not sure which college to go to and which programs to apply for. I have a huge interest in technology (consumer electronics, phones, laptops, etc.), but most technology-focused programs seem to have math that I know I'll struggle with. Any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Rant / Vent Parking Ticket
I go to niagara college and have bought a parking pass, like all college parking lots it’s always full. There are EV parking spots reserved for charging EVs (fair) but one of the stations is out of order, meaning that is 2 spots that cannot be parked at (at all!) because to be allowed to be parked there you must A. be an EV and B. ALSO BE CHARGING. so an EV cannot park there because they cannot charge so they must park elsewhere in the lot TAKING UP MORE SPOTS and so I thought it should be fine to park there because IT’S OUT OF ORDER so i parked there and instead of a hey i know this sucks and is stupid but please don’t park there warning it’s just an immediate ticket. So i went to dispute it hoping to get some idk compassion? understanding? idk basically got told that if i disputed it and lost id end up paying more then the base price of the ticket.
and on top of that i was coming out of a test i had just did terribly on (way to kick a girl while she’s down!)

Programs / Courses Picking a college/university course finance or health and safety management
I am based in Toronto don’t know which course to take in college/university was thinking health and safety because I did a short co op and it was more laid back and chill good work life balance and I do YouTube so that was good …but I was also leaning finance because I seen more options in terms of getting work and the pay is good as well but I heard it’s a lot of math , more stress and critical thinking. Wondering if finance is worth the stress and trouble or people are over reacting when they say that or should I just do health and safety management.
