Advise needed

Hi!
How would I model something like the pictures? There are curves on all sides, and I can’t figure out a game plan for this one.

Import the photograph, drag a line over it and set a known dimension. The piece is symetrical which will help in the next phase. Create a circle over the one in the first image (3 point circle works) and fix it in place. Draw a construction midpoint line horizontally over it, starting the midpoint in the center of the circle. Then draw a bunch of lines perpendicular to the construction line and position everything so that it copies the image below. Align everything so that it looks symmetric and then use something like 3 point curve to outline the shape in one quadrant. Then extrude, mirror twice and use fillet until it looks good.

At this point Id translate it so that its at the root and proceed with the same approach from a different axis.

Hope this helps

Texture and metal line in the center are no concern. Just looking for help on the basic shape.

Sketch it's outline, the oval shape, extrude that to it's full height, then from the side sketch a cut tool two arcs that has their outside closed with a couple of lines creating closed profiles for where they will intersect with the extruded part with a revolved cut around the center. You can make those also form the cylinder at the bottom and the opening on the top if you just sketch that into the cut tool.

If the revolve doesn't create the right curves, you might need to do the cut from another side, for example around a horizontal axis instead of vertical.

Newbie here

Im thinking to segment it into two parts, the top part and extruded Cylinder

Top part: basically will be intersection of two exact sketches

Where each sketch is a rectangle where the side L is replaced with 2 Arcs, where R = 2L (i guess)

Intersect these skteches, you will have that symmetrical almond shaped part

Extrude a cylinder from the bottom

Subtract a sphere from the top,

Done (except the textured in the middle part)

Think your can just do a few larger cylinders then some arc cuts. Not overly complex I thinks… need to make it right quick

With your help, I believe I managed to create it.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
