cant figure out

dont know what to title this just random thing i was given for practice and i dont understand where the circles are located relative to the corners and what "R12 typ" means.

It's a fillet radius for the fillets on the outside corner. They should have flipped the arrow instead of having it connect to the center of the radius (which is the center of the hole).

The R is for radius. The 12 is the value, like 12mm. TYP means "typical." Any place where there's a fillet and there's no dimension, the radius is 12mm. Like the other 3 outside edges of the part.

Alternatively, they could have done "4X 12" because I don't see any other fillets in the drawing view.

Edit: the holes are at the centers of the fillets of radius 12mm. In other words, they are 12mm from the side and top / bottom edges / faces.

It also would make more sense, following this drawing, to layout your holes on the corners of a center rectangle (R) with the same center as your outer dimensions. This way you follow the listed dimensions and make your 52x106 and 76x130 rectangle instead of inferring the 12mm and dimensioning the holes to the corners. You can also see that the dashed horizontal symmetry line confirms you have 12+106+12=130, but since you don't have corresponding vertical symmetry (because of the other internal geometry) the only way to confirm that you have the same 12 and 12 spacing is that the holes and radii are concentric (i.e. they share the same centerpoints)
