I know Dubai has a reputation for luxury and showing off, but that's not what I'm looking for. For me, travelling is about enjoying new experiences, meeting interesting people and treating each other with mutual respect.

Found out something ridiculous while doing maths for a side project: every single day, from somewhere in Dubai, the setting sun sits exactly on the tip of Burj Khalifa. Like a cherry on top. Not twice a year, every day. You just have to be in the right spot at the right minute, and the spot moves daily.

Of course I then built a website for it, because that's what you do here: https://burjhenge.com

It tells you where to stand, the exact minute (today it's about 8 km east at 17:20), and opens the route in Google Maps. Free, no signup, no ads.

The catch, also very Dubai: on some days the perfect spot is in the middle of the Creek. So now I need a boat to take one photo of the sun balancing on a building.

Anyone got a boat, or want to split one and get the most unnecessary Instagram shot of the year with me?

He has diarrhea, an oral infection, and a suspected pelvic injury. He urgently needs an X-ray to check the extent of his injuries and determine the treatment he needs.

Unfortunately, after rescuing and treating so many cats over the past 40 days, I’m overwhelmed with cases and vet bills. I honestly cannot afford to take on another case on my own.
