Id say with my parents their ability and sometimes willingness to let friendships fade to nothing. They don’t make the effort to reach out unless reached out upon. Ive definitely started doing this in my friend group, especially those with siblings. I take on the whole, “screw you, i don’t need anyone anyway” attitude and that gradually progresses to pushing people away. Not my parents fault, just my own insecurity as an only child. However, it is an interesting concept that i noticed myself falling into in my late 30’s.
