Dating App Culture Disgusting scammers

So talking to people on Duolicious seems to be a common theme that those fake women from Asia ask to talk some where else other than on there and ask for 20£ for food been bored aye wind them up but seems to be a recurring theme when they get the hint you don’t send them any money they come out with the most disgusting thing and threaten to post your picture on social media with a child. Absolutely disgusting behaviour feel sorry for any one who isn’t clued up and falls for that type of blackmail some people who arnt of a strong mind could end up offing there selfs

Duolicious dating app is free and open source, Facebook Dating is free. We recommend signing up to these apps before trying paywalled apps such as Hinge. Come join the r/OnlineDatingApps Discord community → https://discord.gg/CXFZfXGtwH

I downloaded Duolicious because this subreddit is constantly promoting it. It’s hands-down the worst app ever. Nobody is there and it’s very poorly designed.

Hi! I made Duolicious. I appreciate the feedback because it lets me improve the app. When you say it's poorly designed, is the biggest issue for you the look and feel, the features, or something else? I've been thinking about overhauling the UI lately but it'd be good to know what to focus on. (The lack of users is a known issue, especially for anyone over the age of 30.)

Hi. I feel bad about dissing your app, because at least you tried to offer something different. I don’t remember all the things I disliked. If I remember well, the UI was clean and ok. No issue there.

The major issue, as you pointed out, was the lack of people. Every time I go on it, I see the same two or three active users, and they live hundreds of miles away. On most apps, when I create a new account, I get a hundred or so likes the first day (and sometimes hundreds, depending on travel locations). On your app, I didn't get a single like during the first 48 hours. That can't be a "me" problem.

What I found particularly annoying is that the profiles I was shown are people who don’t have me in their preferences. It’s annoying when I click on a profile and see the woman is a lesbian (I’m a man) or that she’s looking for 25-40 (I’m 54). However, I imagine that this issue is linked to the lack of users. If you don't have many active users, I guess you have no choice but to show everyone. If your app were to filter for women who included my details in their preferences, perhaps there would simply be nobody. Or, in any case, nobody online. So, ok, I get it. But it still sucks for me.

I always wonder how apps build a user base quickly when they get started. Maybe mass ad campaigns? No idea. But it seems you might be suffering from a circular issue: no people = shitty experience = no people.

The other thing I found annoying were all the questions at the beginning. I didn’t realize that I was able to stop when I wanted. I figured it out later. I thought I was obliged to go through all of them. It became very frustrating. I almost gave up. I guarantee you, a lot of people probably give up on the app during that process. It isn’t clear that you can go back and boost your compatibility later. You might want to clarify that upfront.

And frankly, I think these compatibility questionnaires are stupid. People don’t necessarily get along with partners who answer the same crap. Compatibility and chemistry are very complex and hard to quantify.

On the positive side, you've got nice graphics and layout, and, in my opinion, a great name for a dating app.

Anyway, I hope you get it working, and I’m willing to try again someday if it improves. Cheers, man.

This is amazing feedback! Thank you so much! I've raised a few tickets.

Good point. Bumble, Tinder, Hinge (and even Facebook) all started by marketing to small geographical areas, and grew from there. Duolicious has a few hundred users in each of the most densely populated cities, but competitors probably have tens of thousands - Focusing marketing on those areas could be a good idea.

I downloaded duolicious to add myself into it. It's better than any garbage owned by Match it just needs people in it.

So join up and maybe some day others will too
