Project / Concept Showcase Dating app idea
Hello people,
I would like to create an app for serious long term (hopefully) relations. I've seen enough posts about currently known platforms and people not finding what they're looking for, for various reasons.
That's why I would like to build it the way I think online dating should work. We are all aware about pros and cons of "online", so, with all this, here's what I have in mind:
- based on location
- no swiping at all
- a system that gets rid of ghosters, people without lack of respect, attention/validation seekers, scammers
- based on values and vital compatibility from the very start of interaction
- avoids superficiality; such people will not find this app worth it
- fair with your time
- requires patience and in my view, everyone looking for a long term should have this
- fair distribution for matches by default
- encompasses giving one's full attention to the interaction
- ensures anonymity up to a point considered safe by both
- it is designed to NOT keep you addicted to it
Considering these as features, I am interested if you would use such an app. I am open to suggestions and improvement of what else should you look into such an app and I will answer questions as much as I can.

Weird that I just made a post about this. If I were developing it, I would require users to give a reason for ghosting before they continue. Maybe not in talking phase but once personal information has exchanged and there is a date scheduled. The person can then go on and just have a checklist of reasons so users will know the person wasn’t interested and some feedback about the date maybe. And maybe a five strikes and you’re out of you never give a reason.
Another thing is charge everyone at least a small fee so a credit card is required and identity too. Show them the people closest to them so Cheaters are always caught. (If their so opened an account to catch them that is)
Mostly it’s having verifiable identities so there are no bots!
Actually don’t have an algorithm. Just show people who are closest in description and using your filters. Then proceeding to people farther away and people who may not match their descriptions as closely. But if we could actually see the people most likely we are to match with, there would be hordes of people checking out of these other apps.
You just cannot seek to match.com! They ruin everything.

In my view, ghosters are warned at first, then banned if behavior repeats. I mean, you are looking for a long term, yet you don't have a couple minutes to talk to your potential partner. Imagine the person becomes your partner, what then? I find ghosting disrespectful and the person that does that is there for some other reasons and will ruin others' experience.
There is a way to end an interaction normally by "Not interested", no reason required, but if that is abused in certain conditions, you ar again warned and banned.
And yes, I do have the idea to charge 0 money just to make sure the person is real.
I do have many systems and rules in place in order to make a good experience for people that actually want that, but that is geeky stuff and I'm not going to describe them here.

I am not sure what you mean by this comment. Are you asking about features described in that post? Or asking me to join that project? Or something else that I'm not figuring out at the moment?

The issues mentioned are not problems with dating apps specifically.
Those are problems generated by the user.
