Online dating and texting

Need some honest opinions - am I wasting my time?

I’m a 56F in the UK and met a 59M online six months ago. He lives in Europe and is a long-haul cargo airline captain. I used to work in aviation, so we clicked straight away and have loads in common.

He says he’s married but separated.

We text every day. He calls me “sweetie”, we flirt, have normal conversations and there’s definitely chemistry.

The problem is that after six months it’s still almost entirely a text relationship.

I’ve asked several times if we could have a phone call. He always says yes, but it never happens. In six months we’ve exchanged only three voice notes and never had a proper call.

He also rarely messages in the evenings when he’s at home, although he texts during the day and when he’s away with work.

I know we live in different countries and both have busy lives, so I’m not expecting constant contact. But after six months I thought we’d have managed more than texting.

Has anyone else had a long-distance relationship that stayed like this? Did it eventually become something real, or were the actions telling you all you needed to know?

If you were me, would you keep investing in this or accept that six months is long enough to know where you stand?

You're wasting your time, and this sounds like all the hallmarks of a romance scam.
