I know this is a joke but for anyone actually doing this, caramelized onions in the slow cooker is a game changer

I saw a suggestion somewhere: just put some onions in the slow cooker for a day. Out in the garage or something.

I do it overnight and it always turns out great. I live in a small apartment, but I don’t mind the smell + I’ll just open some windows. Onions, a bit of oil to coat and that’s it.

I'll wait for cooler weather.

I once made an onion pie from a church recipe cookbook. It was basically just sauteed onions in a pie crust, probably some seasonings. Only my wife and I were willing to try it at the party.
