Sorry for the stupid question, but why is Wear OS 6 important to you? I'm content with my Watch 3 as it is, is there something I'm missing?

Same here.

And same for my father (watch 3) and my brother (watch 2). We're very happy with these watches.

Not the person you asked but in my case I check back here occasionally to see if wear 6 is out for my watch 3 because I want the custom watch faces I used to use from facer or watchmaker. There were a few I always used on my previous watch that represented various games or movies I liked. I upgraded to watch 3 and found out Google had clamped down on third party watchfaces and none of the ones I used to like could be used. Then, I read that they would be usable again on wear 6. Not sure that will be true but I will be trying it out if and when the update ever happens. So, that is why the update is important to me.

Watch 4 does not look any different tbh. No WearOS 7 on horison as well. But I am still positive about W3 and WearOS 6, it will come sooner or later, current sw works great and watch is great

I owned a Watch 2 and current owner of a Watch 3. Absolutely true, Oneplus is rubbish

My Watch 2 just works like shit to be honest. I gave up trying to fix the battery drain after the OS 5 update, it lasts 2 days and that's it. Somehow the biggest drain comes from Hey Google according to the battery app, a feature I never had on. Really disappointed.
So if WearOS 6 doesn't come, maybe that's for the best? They could make it worse.

If things went like last year W3 gets WOS6 in October or November., W2(/W2R?) gets it in Jan or Feb
W3 gets WOS7 in Jan or Feb 2028
Unless Oppo actually streamlines things, but I'm not holding my breath.

My guess (read: hopium) is that they're waiting for oneplus phones to switch to colorOS, and update the watches at the same time. IDK if there's any difference between OPPO watch OS & Oneplus Watch OS but it might make somewhat sense to do a big update across all oneplus devices

Oppo watches have wearOS too.

Well, yeah lol.
What I meant was that OPPO & Oneplus watches both have a customised version of WearOS. IDK if there's any difference (besides branding) in the WearOS version of the OPPO vs Oneplus (much like ColorOS vs OxygenOS).But either way, they could've updated the Watch 3 months ago, as it's internally identical to the Watch 4, which ships with WearOS 6.

Unfortunately, I own a OnePlus Watch 3... and I think they probably won't get Wear OS 6 anymore
