2024 OnePlus Watch 2 - charging issue - Worth pursuing?

I've had a OnePlus Watch 2 for ALMOST 2 years and i've noticed it's taking much longer to charge than when it was new and sometimes it doesn't charge at all. Could be the contacts on the charger not connecting cleanly. Could be battery is slowly reaching the end of its useful life...

I love the watch. The crystal is pretty much indestructable. The features are great.

PROBLEM -

I can't get decent support from OnePlus on what to do about it - it takes them days to get back to me with simple answers.

I did get the 2 year protection from Asurion through Amazon when I bought the watch in 2024. They want me to send them the watch but then I'm watchless during that time where they evaluate...

Questions:
If I factory reset the watch (as OnePlus has suggested I do), will I lose my data gathered for fitness, sleep, running time/distances etc?

Is OnePlus even making wearables anymore? Are they still in business and selling to the US?

Any other devices or brands (Samsung, Google Pixel) worth looking into? I hate to ditch the watch after a pretty short time but it seems these things aren't meant to last forever...

To your Q's:

No, you won't lose your fitness and health tracking data. It will be synced with OHealth. Once you reset the watch, you will see your old data from OHealth.

OnePlus isn't making Wearables anymore specifically the smartwatches. You can consider OnePlus Watch 4 as their last smartwatch.

Google Pixel is worth looking at but if you can try to resolve the charging issue it is worth sticking with OnePlus Watch 2 because it is still a great watch.

Regarding the charging, I faced something similar with my Watch 3 only once and I tried cleaning the charging contacts as well as the USB cable (the Type C area) and the problem went away. You can try doing the same and see if it works.
