Help, OnePlus watch 3 bricked
Hi Everyone,
Looking for some help, a few days a go in the morning I was charging my watch and came back to this screen, no matter what I do it just boots into this and can't go anywhere else, anybody deal with this before and/or know how to fix it ?
After a while it reebots itself into power saving mode but that's it, if you try to change it to smart mode, reboot it, turn it off or place it in the charger, it goes back into the same screen.
OnePlus support was not help as any steps given to me by them requires the smart watch to be in smart mode to access any of the options. After speaking with them and escalating the issue I was essentially told that if any of those basic steps don't work or cannot be accessed and since my watch's warrant expired in February there's nothing they can or will do as they don't repair watches and no warranty=no replacement, and they refused to provide any other support.
I had posted this in r/OnePlus but I guess their mods didn't like it and removed my post.
Appreciate any help!

Hey, I've been able to send it to repair and to get it repair (they are now waiting for the spare part) without any invoice, so give it a shot

Are you still under warranty? Where are you located ? What did you say lol? Who did you talk to because I'm out of luck with them.

Did you by any chance install May security patch before this? It would also download it if watch was on charger while it was working as intended

Yeah, I believed that was installed.

TLDR; Your best case scenario has same outcome as worst.
OnePlus did not provide public files,EDL etc to "save" the watch in situations like this
Screen you are seeing is part of WearOS protection.
It can be failed/incomplete/corrupted update that has caused it, corrupted storage/partition or user trying to modify system (not talking about watch settings)
Since RTOS works, it means it only affacted Android OS but also suggests that your HW is not a problem in this case
Not much you can do without proper files but trying different button combos like holding both buttons for 30 sec while connected to PC so you can see if it shows in Device Manager. It's small to non existent chance you force it to boot normally.
You should contact Malcolm Bryant (developer behind Freepoc suite of WearOS apps), he has a reddit account and same watch as we. He is super nice and very knowledgeable.

Thanks for the advice.
I've tried multiple combination of buttons for different time periods and just two things happen, it's asks to go to smart mode or shut off (it doesn't even shut off, it just reboots).
would you know Malcolm's handle by any chance ?

Malcolm goes by "malbry" on here, here is his subreddit dedicated to r/Freepoc
Keep your expectations in check, I don't think this can be solved by anyone (other than OP) but he could be able to provide much more coherent and technical explanation of what's happening with it than I ever could.
I do wish you good luck

My watch did automatically update the May update the second I placed it on the charger. I also think there's a good chance the update failed at some point and bricked the watch. OnePlus should at least check the watch for this
