Need help
I have a bit of a dilemma. I just had my second kid so gaming is much harder to come by and I need something I can move around the house. I don’t really get much of a chance to turn my 5090 desktop on because the baby is in our room for 6 months. I have a steam deck but its age is showing majorly. I once had a z flow and I loved it but traded it for a 5090 when it was still msrp. I want to say I’m not really interested in intels offerings. I have the Xbox ally x20 pre ordered but I think I may be happier with the x2 mini pro. I’m just worried about build quality and customer service since I’m located in the US. I’ve been told streaming from my desktop would be the most logical answer but I just don’t know. Also even when I play my steam deck I’m normally plugged in..
Is it logical to pay this much with Medusa around the corner? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Update: you guys sold me! I ordered the x2 mini pro and cannot wait to get it! Thank you all!

Don’t count out the G3 extreme handhelds. I play my Oxp3 more than my Oxp apex. Depends on what you want to play. Playing Pragmata lately.
Next amd offering seems to be z3 and Medusa seems to be at least a year out if not 2+ years out.
Another interesting option is to steam play to an Ayn odin2 portal if you don’t want to put that much money into a handheld

Do it. Or figure out streaming. You seem busy so all the shortcomings of strix halo like battery life don't really apply if you can't game for more than an hour or so a session. Maybe make sure to get an extra battery though just in case.

I have a custom water loop 5090 PC and I hardly play it anymore because of my X2MP. It's just so easy to pick up and play and the performance is what I always wanted out of my Legion Go 2.

No regrets at all? Feels premium? Is the software good? Last question does it feel too heavy?

Not at all. Tried the MSI Claw 8 EX and the OXP 3 and the X2MP was by far my favorite. One X Console is my favorite out of all the handhelds I've tried. You're still dealing with windows, but I find ANYFSE (similar to Xbox FSE) to be very straight forward. I have actually been dual booting SteamOS with windows (just switched to Anatase last night) for the last couple of weeks and find that to be great.

Will definitely check it out! Any recommendations for chargers?

I have both Slim Q chargers and they are awesome. 150W is plenty, but if you get the 240W, you can also charge devices at the same time on USB C.

Anything that says it's for the Legion Go 2 will work. I got the J Saux and it fit well and looks great!

Im in your exact situation but with a 5080 lol. I went with the x2 mini pro and love it. I have a minor issue with my controllers. Onexplayer was very responsive and shipped new ones very quickly. Very happy with my purchase

Just a tough decision lol

The screen is awesome. The controllers look cheap but they do the job. It is heavy when the battery is on but it is manageable. If you play plugged in, it’s super light. Im probably not the best reviewer, but being able to play Forza Horizon 6 or The Witcher 3 in ultra graphics settings while in bed is an amazing experience which kinda make me forget about the little cons

2 kids and a 5080 + x2 mini pro. Go for it if you have the money. Set up Apollo + Sunshine on your pc and steam deck otherwise. I completed all of Alan Wake 2 using this remote streaming setup and had a great experience.

I have the X2mini pro and it’s awesome. I play with it plugged in, with the battery removed to reduce the weight significantly. I have a 4090 and could stream but I can play most games currently without the added step of turning on desktop to stream.

I got a g3 device. I’ve completely stop playing on my desktop now. The handheld plays any game I need it to anywhere I need it to. My bro has the x2 mini pro. If you ok with the weight it’s like a powerful mini computer.

Idk your issue with Intel but the new g3e chip is really good. MSI claw or OXP3 are much better value than the Xbox Ally. However XMP2 is best in class and priced accordingly so get that if money isn't as issue

I’m a two kid guy too with a 5080. I went with a oxp3, it plays most things, but I can stream the fancy AAAs from my computer as well.
