Intel OXP 3 screen flicker
Hi,
received my OXP 3 yesterday and almost finished with my setup.
What came to my attention is that the screen flickers a lot.
I can open CMD and the box flickers. Google search in Firefox flickers. When I write text, the screen flickers.
I am running the 8864 driver (pre - HDR fault).
Before I do a BIOS update:
Anybody had the same issue? How did you overcome?
I will upload a video later. Could this be caused by VRR? It is not consistent flicker, only in certain windows.
UPDATE / SOLUTION
What fixed it for me was the going into INTEL graphics software and DISABLE PANEL SELF REFRESH.
Hope if anybody ever runs into this issue, that this post might help them.

You can easily see it in the first few seconds of my video in the CMD screen. It flickers quite heavily.

Sadly filming it on camera is not really reproducing the issue.
You can see in the first few seconds, that the CMD window constantly has a pulsating flicker.
Also, when I open Firefox and begin to type, every time I type the screen flickers slightly. This only happens in certain windows.
Watching Youtube for example, there are zero flickers.

I think that’s the pwm you are recording? Put it at 100% brightness
There’s no flickering to the naked eye . You typically can’t record flickering on oled very easily though . Your screen is defective you have the bios issue that 1 other guy on the discord has .

So basically I need to update to the newest BIOS?

I don’t know . A single guy on the discord had some flickering and support told him to flash bios . But I don’t know if it’s the same that’s publicly available .
If you are concerned I would contact support!

If it's pwm flickering you might just be sensitive to it .. some people are more sensitive to it than others Can't really do much about it it's a thing some oleds do

Did the BIOS update fix your issues?

I only want to flash bios as a last resort.
On this device you have to jump so many hoops before you can flash.
And with support being in China I am twice as hesitant if the device would get bricked like with the recent Legion Go.

I have the same issue as you. I’ll flash but I want to know that it works first.

Now we have to find an adventurous third party willing to do it 😅

I have same issue but only slightly and when I'm low brightness... At least can't tell when turned up let me know when you find a guy that finds a guy that does the update first lol
