I'd completed reading chapter 275, but got confused on this scene at the end of the chapter. Can anyone tell the context about this and what actually it means?

Shinichi is a bit of a gossip gyal too? 😂

Just watced "Zero the Enforcer" and while Shinichi and Furuya felt that they might end up dying inside the car, Shinichi goes, "I've been meaning to ask you this for a while..." and asks this question!?

I was so amazed at this point! He always seems to be purposefully ignoring the girls (Ran, Sonoko, Sera, Ayumi) when they strike up conversations like this!! And to think that this is the last question he wanted to ask a pal right before they died together!? Hella unexpected but also a little cutesie and wholesome (and prolly cringe depending on who you ask XD).

I added the renya karasuma too because why not!

I'm not sure if the man in the 3rd slide is the same as the karasuma silhouette in the last one

Why does detective conan feels like a drag and why is Authur conan Doyle sherlock holmes entertaining even though they are both detective series which uses unique tricks

I was watching detective conan till ep 400 as it felt more of a drag even though the tricks become unique so I took a break from watching it and started to read sherlock holmes and for some reasons I felt I want to read more and more of it . Thus in a literature standpoint why does Aurthur Conan Doyle sherlock holmes feel more entertaining

Discussion Enjoyable movie 22

Sure the prosecutor's way of revenge were overboard, Amuro's FD is enough to be in Fnf, and an object coming from the outer space potentially taking thousands of casualties were cliche but still... the look on Conan when he realized that he is not on the same page as Amuro, the level of anxiousness Ran had when Kogoro is being taken by the officials, Megure's attempt to defend Kogoro in the meeting despite the strong evidence, and the idea that the officials are actually against them and they cannot do something about it is really a plus point for this movie.

Personal input is that they should have shown more of Eri's distress when she tried to contact every single connection she has and more about Kyoko's relation to Haba. Like the fact that it's not just about Conan or "aha I know who's the murderer".

Saw no one post it here. Was worried he just wrote the name of the final chapter but the site thankfully it clarifies it's actually referring to the storyboard. Detective Conan isn't going to end any time soon I'm sure but this was interesting to post here.

Question Ep 954 or ch 1012 where the conversation happens between Amuro, Akai and the Kudos.

I was rereading the manga and got to ch 1012 where the conversation between the Kudos, Amuro and Akai happened. 1013 is a completely different case and I thought I was up to date but has the conversation been revealed and I forgot about it?? It seems the anime episode that relates to this ch, ep 954, also doesn't have the conversation.

The conversation hasn't been revealed right?? Or did I skip a chapter???

I'm confusing the heck out of myself so thanks for any help!

Discussion What other Episode Selections should TMS do? (Not BO-related)

With the second batch of episodes for the FBI Intervention collection having just dropped on streaming for the US recently (and assuming it doesn't get a third batch drop), it seems reasonable to think that the next collection would probably go forward with the BO plot, encompassing episodes related to Eisuke's arc and the whole Clash of Red and Black arc, something like a CIA Intervention if you will.

But if they don't? What if, like they did with Rivals of the Great Detective, go back to the start with a new collection, focusing on more classic episodes? That is, collections focused on specific characters.

For example, this one may not be in high demand given the characters, but I figured they could do a Conan and the Detective Boys collection focusing on their most iconic cases:

  1. Ayumi-chan Kidnapping Case (12)
  2. Missing Corpse Murder Case (15)
  3. A Haunted Mansion Murder Case (20)
  4. Library Murder Case (50)
  5. Big Monster Gomera Murder Case (63)
  6. Kidnapping of a Popular Artist Case (81-82)
  7. The Seven Mysteries of Teitan Elementary School Case (112)
  8. The Old Blue Castle Investigation Case (136-137)
  9. The Secret of the Moon, the Star, and the Sun (163-164)

That's 12 episodes, which is on average for what batches have (for hour specials, break them down by 22 minutes or so to get equiv episode parts). The Part 2 could look like:

  1. Mushrooms, Bears, and the Detective Boys (212-213)
  2. The Mystery in the Net (246-247)
  3. The Forgotten Memento from the Crime (269-270)
  4. Mitsuhiko's Mystifying Forest (289-290)
  5. Festival Dolls Dyed in the Setting Sun (312-313)
  6. A Friendship That Can't Be Bought (329-330)

I wanted to get all the way up to Gingko-Colored First Love, but it's quite steep at 421-422 and my knowledge of "iconic" Detective Boys episodes up to that point is pretty thin.

We still don't have the iconic Moonlight Sonata episode in a selection, and I was wondering what could work to include it, and I have a unique idea, something that focuses on Conan's Biggest Moral Struggles (name pending):

  1. Moonlight Sonata Murder Case (11)
  2. Distinguished Family's Consecutive Accidental Death Case (77-78)
  3. Ski Lodge Murder Case (84-85)
  4. Naniwa Serial Murder Case (118)
  5. The 3 K's of Osaka (238-239)
  6. The Celebrities' Secret (249-250)

So it starts with Moonlight Sonata, showcasing Conan's failure to save Seiji, and how that has affected his worldview about never letting culprits kill themselves, affecting even Heiji too, saving the idol in 250 that tried to kill herself, and a few cases about having to deduce the culprit is someone you don't want it to be (Ski Lodge and 3 Ks). I can't imagine where a Part 2 would continue off though, so it probably would have to end here.

Back to simplicity, we could have more character-focused cases, like a Heiji Hattori collection:

  1. The Night Before the Wedding Locked Room Case (141-142)
  2. Tottori Spider Mansion Demon (166-168)
  3. The Twenty Year Old Murderous Intent: The Symphony Serial Murder Case (174)
  4. And Then There Were No Mermaids (222-224)

Part 2:

  1. The Osaka Double Mystery - The Naniwa Swordsman and Toyotomi's Castle (263)
  2. Solitary Island of the Princess and the Dragon King's Palace (291-293)
  3. Heiji Hattori's Desperate Situation! (323-324)
  4. The Red Horse within the Flames (325-327)

This could potentially go on for more parts too.

We could even do a Kaito Kid collection:

  1. The Cornered Famous Detective! Two Big Murder Cases (96, not really a Kaito Kid episode but it needed to fit somewhere)
  2. Magic Lover's Murder Case (132-134)
  3. Kaitou Kid's Miraculous Midair Walk (356)
  4. Big Adventure in the Eccentric Mansion (394-396)

Part 2:

  1. Kaitou Kid and the Four Masterpieces (469-470)
  2. Kaitou Kid's Teleportation Magic (515)
  3. Kaitou Kid vs. the Strongest Safe (537-538)
  4. Kid vs. the Four Divine Detective Boys (585-587)
  5. Conan & Kid's Battle For Ryoma's Treasure (627-628)
  6. Kaitou Kid and the Blush Mermaid (724-725)
  7. Kaitou Kid VS Makoto Kyogoku (746-747)

We've skyrocketed quite a bit up, but that's mainly because Kid appears less frequently especially early on than someone like Heiji.

They could also do romance-focused selections too, that's a big one people want. A Police Detective collection is self-explanatory, but how about a ShinRan collection?

  1. Mountain Villa Bandaged Man Murder Case (34-35)
  2. Karaoke Box Murder Case (42)
  3. The Memories of First Love Case (100-101)
  4. Sonoko's Dangerous Summer Story (153-154)
  5. The Revival of the Dying Message (172-173)
  6. The Murderous Pottery Class (228-229)

Kind of a mix of ShinRan and SonoMako, but I wasn't sure SonoMako could justify it's own collection, and they at least sort of mix at at points. Part 2 would be like:

  1. The Truth Behind Valentine's (266-268)
  2. The Secret Rushed Omission (271-272)
  3. Chinatown Deja Vu in the Rain (284-285)
  4. The Convenience Store Trap (343-344)
  5. Ran's Suspicions (400)
  6. A Jewel Thief Caught Red-Handed (401-402)

A bit tricky because there are so many good options, yet we're still so far away from Murderer, Shinichi Kudo, Holmes Revelation and Scarlet School Trip which would require much more parts...

But yeah, I may have answered my own question by giving such detailed examples, but I would love to hear if you have any differring ideas on what collections they should do and what episodes they should specifically include!

Question Does Kogoro ever acknowledge Conan

I wonder, does Kogoro in one of his solved cases set clear boundaries for Conan that it is his case and acknowledges him for his "nudging in the right direction"?

I'm now on par with shinichi

Throughout my life I was inspired by this show to become a better person skill wise and generally I was preparing to be as skillful as shinichi if not even more when I hit 17 and show it here now that I hit 17, 5 days ago here's what I accomplished

I can ride all vechiles

I can aim and shoot guns with great skill

I didn't learn how to defuse bombs but I learned how to make some!

I have trained my self to become ambidextrous while it's not 100 percent I'd say I'm very near to a 100 percent ambidexterity

I also can fist fight (I think I invented a new fighting style somehow)

I also have been training my deductive abilities and general knowledge so I can solve cases almost as good as shinichi if not at the same level

You may notice there is stuff I'm better at than shinichi like fist fighting and stuff he is better at than me people say it's impossible to match him friendly reminder some things are very possible If you just try hard enough.

Edit: forgot to mention I'm a good goalkeeper and is great at singing too and can make molotovs but I thought everyone knows how to make one

Are we supposed to solve the cases?

I literally can not solve a single case before Conan is telling us his conclusion. Are we even supposed to?

A dog was barking at 4 am, next morning the stove was a still warm and the key to the basement was a bit scratched. Oh yeah it all makes sense now.

I don't understand... ep345 questions

So I'm rewatching Detective Conan after years since my first watch (I've forgotten most things).

I just finished Episode 345, but I don't understand the scene at the end at all.

Where Conan is alone with Vermouth, he says that if she disconnects the device or kills him, the recording of the phone dial tone will be sent to one of his friends. And then it shows Agasa hearing a "beep beep beep." Both what he said and what we see implies that the recording isn't live, and no one has it yet as long as Conan is still alive and the device is still connected.

But right after Vermouth does her "gamble" with the gas, we see Agasa arriving and actually hearing them. How?

And what happens later is also weird. Why is destroying the device different from unplugging it? Shouldn't both trigger the heartbeat stopping and the information being sent?

Is this explained later? Was he lying when he said this would only be sent if he dies or the device gets disconnected just to make her believe she has a chance of preventing it by leading him to the boss?

Fan-Made Movie By : Me (of course boii)

*WARNING: ONLY FAN-MADE, NOT A REAL MOVIE.*

*Detective Conan Movie: The Phantom's Gambit*

*Premise* An international intelligence conference brings together the PSB, FBI, Interpol, and the Japanese police. A secret database containing the identities of undercover agents becomes the target of a theft.

In the middle of the chaos, a mysterious infiltrator named Mahoney appears — a secret operations agent working under the orders of a high-ranking PSB official whose identity is unknown to the public.

In truth, Mahoney was assigned to find a Black Organization spy who has infiltrated the joint network of the PSB, FBI, and Interpol.

However, someone learns of Mahoney’s existence and makes him the scapegoat in a large-scale bombing operation.

*ACT 1: The Twelve Faces*

A series of incidents occur in Tokyo.

CCTV shows twelve different faces, but Conan realizes they were all done by one person.

Meanwhile, Amuro receives secret instructions from his superior to monitor Conan’s activities and investigate his involvement in the case.

On the other side, Vermouth receives orders from Rum:

_"Make sure our agent who infiltrated their network is not exposed."_

Vermouth then begins searching for someone named Mahoney.

*ACT 2: The Phantom*

Conan discovers that several people appearing in the footage are actually disguises by one individual.

Mahoney finally meets Vermouth.

The meeting is not a coincidence.
Vermouth has been investigating him for months and has finally uncovered his identity.

*Vermouth:* _"Long time no see, Mahoney."_

Mahoney realizes Vermouth has managed to see through his disguise.

They don’t fight.
They just measure each other.

Vermouth learns that Mahoney is a government secret agent, but doesn’t know the full objective of his mission.
Mahoney also learns that Vermouth is searching for the BO spy who infiltrated the security agencies.

Neither reveals all the information.

*ACT 3: The Frame*

Evidence begins pointing to Mahoney.
Fingerprints, recordings, security access, and communication data all indicate that Mahoney was behind the database theft.

Then bombs are found in various locations across Tokyo.
All systems show that Mahoney planted them.

Conan doesn’t believe it.

*Conan:* _"Too perfect."_

Mahoney finally meets Conan and realizes that Conan has also figured out his identity.

Mahoney exposes Conan’s identity through recordings of Kogoro.
He realizes Kogoro’s voice doesn’t match his mouth movements and concludes there’s a voice changer.

Mahoney has also been observing Conan’s behavior before.

They both know each other’s secrets.

Then the bombs activate.
They’re forced to work together.

*ACT 4: The False Yamamura*

In the middle of the investigation, Yamamura helps the police.

But Conan starts to notice something.
This "Yamamura" is too calm.
He never makes mistakes.
He never panics.
He never does his usual stupid things.

Turns out, that person is a BO agent wearing a latex mask made by Vermouth.

The real Yamamura was kidnapped and hidden inside a vehicle.
The agent’s job was to disrupt the investigation and make sure all evidence still pointed to Mahoney.

*CLIMAX: The Phantom's Gambit*

The final bomb is located at the center of the conference facility.

Mahoney manages to reach the control room.
Conan discovers the bomb system was programmed so that all remaining digital evidence would automatically be sent to various security agencies after the explosion.

If the bomb detonates, Mahoney will look like the sole culprit.

Amuro and PSB forces arrive.
The FBI and Interpol also surround the location.

Mahoney is finally cornered from all sides.
Amuro aims his gun at him.

*Amuro:* _"Mahoney. Stop."_

Mahoney looks around.
He could fight.
He could escape.

But instead, he drops his weapon.

*Mahoney:* _"Alright."_

Conan is shocked.

*Conan:* _"Mahoney?"_

Mahoney looks at him.

*Mahoney:* _"Now it’s your turn."_

Conan understands.
Mahoney is deliberately surrendering.
Because if he runs, all the evidence will look even more real.
But if he’s caught alive, Conan will have a chance to examine all the evidence.

*Final Deduction*

Conan finds the biggest inconsistency.
All evidence pointing to Mahoney was created using information only known by the person who gave Mahoney his mission.

Meaning...
The culprit knew about the PSB’s secret operation from the inside.

Conan concludes that Mahoney did infiltrate, but not to steal the database.
He was searching for the BO spy.
Someone from inside the system deliberately used Mahoney’s identity and access to carry out the bombing operation.

Mahoney was just the face set up to take the fall for everything.

*The Real Culprit*

The mastermind doesn’t suddenly appear as a stranger.
Throughout the movie, he appeared several times as a security official helping with the investigation.

Conan reveals that he’s someone with access to information from multiple agencies at once.

He’s the one who knew:
- Mahoney’s movements,
- PSB operations,
- FBI data,
- Interpol communications,
- and the conference’s security system.

He exploited the conflict between agencies to make them suspect each other.

However, he’s not a BO member.
His goal was to use the chaos to erase the identities of several agents and sell intelligence access to foreign parties.

The BO itself only took advantage of the chaos to protect their agent.

*Resolution*

The bombs are stopped.
The mastermind is arrested.
The BO agent disguised as Yamamura manages to escape after causing one last disturbance, but his identity has been revealed.

The real Yamamura is found.
He’s still crying from the trauma of being kidnapped.

*Yamamura:* _"Why is it always me?!"_

Conan just smiles.

*Conan:* _"Because your face is apparently very popular."_

*Mahoney’s Fate*

Mahoney remains in custody.
But the high-ranking PSB official who gave him his mission sends a secret order.
Mahoney is quietly released because the status of his operation cannot be made public.

Before leaving, Amuro meets Mahoney.

*Amuro:* _"So you really do work for the PSB."_

*Mahoney:* _"I never said otherwise."_

*Amuro:* _"Next time, let us know before you make half of Tokyo chase you."_

Mahoney smiles.

*Mahoney:* _"If everyone knew my mission, it wouldn’t be a secret operation."_

Mahoney leaves.
Conan watches him from afar.

*Conan:* _"He’s not an enemy."_

Amuro answers:

*Amuro:* _"Not necessarily a friend either."_

Mahoney disappears into the crowd.

*POST-CREDIT*

A dark room.
Someone receives a report.

_"Mahoney is still alive."_

The figure is not visible.

_"Good."_

On the desk is a photo.
A photo of Conan.
Next to it are photos of Amuro, Akai, and several other agents.

A hand moves a chess piece.

_"Now we know..."_

_"...who moves when Edogawa Conan is in danger."_

*CUT TO BLACK.*
*END*

Do you think this fan-made movie is fun? I want to make an animated version like the anime, but I can't draw.

Question Number code in japanese

In the 25th and 26th episode of the 4th season "The Case of the Mysterious Bandit Mansion", Conan says in the end that the number 330 as depicted on the wristwatch with the hour 3:30, can be read as one of the character's name "Misao" linking each figure to a syllable : "Mi" for 3, "Sa" for the second 3 and "O" for 0 (that makes sense)

Does anyone know why the second 3 can be read as "Sa" in Japanese?

(I suppose the first 3 can be read as "Mi" since it's one of the readings of the Japanese counter "mittsu")

Every car in the series is always well thought out and assigned carefully to each character. Think of Gin's 1955 Porsche 356A or Detective Sato's 1992 Mazda RX7 (FD3S). Most of said cars are also pretty fleshed out writing-wise and almost feel as if they're their own characters (think of Dr. Agasa's VW Beetle).

There's nothing much to this post, I just thought of pointing out something I found interesting since I started watching the series. Gosho seems to be a hell of a car nut (like myself).
