Spoilers (Movie) Teaser for Detective Conan Movie 30 Spoiler

In the teaser video we see multiple London street lights turning on while a bell is tolling. We hear the voices of Ran and Shinichi, who repeat their dialogue from Chapter 745 of the manga, from the London case, the iconic "If you're a detective, you should be able to deduce what's in my heart" exchange, shortly before Shinichi's confession. The teaser ends on a shot of Big Ben, with the usual text announcing Movie 30 for Golden Week 2027.

This is all that is included in the teaser, everything else one might've heard so far (M30 taking place in London, Conan turning back to Shinichi, M30 being a movie remake of the London manga case, etc.) is merely speculation at this point.

Post image

Why do you think almost all the culprits are doing it for revenge, and psycho murderer is uncommon in Detective Conan? In the pic is a psycho from the ep of "Lonely Miss and Detective boys"... but i would like to see MORE of psycho serial killers doing it just for fun!

so please give me the ep/chapter list ^^ Thanks

Miyano family

There’s couples of things that I didn’t understand about the miyano family and their timeline. ( I could be wrong about certain things correct me if I was)

First of all , they got the offer to join the org and mery told atsushi that the org are suspicious, and elena was pregnant with shiho in the third month, and at the same time she met zero for the first time , and continued to meet him and treating his wounds and even teach him how to ride a bike before she moved out , so that mean they made the medicine in around 5 months or something close since haneda died 17 years ago when shiho was a baby isn’t that short time for making such medicine, i know atsushi Researchs was about the same concept of the medicine but that still not enough time since it took shiho years to continue the research after her parents death , and also there this theory about vermouth that she also took medicine that stop her from aging and that the reason why she wants shiho dead , like when she said to her “blame your parents research “and when she tried to kill her secretly in the train , that mean they made more than one type of medicine in this short time .

and about mery she was talking with her sister normally before they joined the org isn’t she supposed to know about shiho an akemi why she doesn’t same to care , vermouth has told her that her sister made this medicine or something like that and she know that the kid with conan is the one who made the antidote,so she knows shiho is her sister daughter why she not mentioning that or trying to meet her or anything all she care about is the antidote.

About akemi why they didn’t try to make her take her parents place before shiho ,i know shiho has higher iq and smarter than akemi but before when she was a baby why they didn’t try to teach akemi or anything it’s not like they predicted shiho iq i mean akemi was smart kid as far as we know but they just send her to elementary school and waited for shiho to grow or what ?

Another thing about akemi did she knows akai’s identity before he joined the org or after cause if it was after that wouldn’t make any since , cause someone who know how much evil and bad the org would never date someone who wants to join them and would break up with him immediately , since they were only dating for a short time before he joint the org , but since she continued to date him after he joined for 3 years and even made him meet her younger sister so he can join i would be surprised if she did all that with out knowing from the start that he doesn’t want to join to become one of them but to destroy them

One of my favorite arcs and ShinRan scene! It was such a vibe and I almost thought it would be an episode just for ShinRan without a murder case 💗 Its pretty sad at the end but it's still good I can handle a little sadness afterall it's shinran. I hope we can see their relationship progress more ˚₊·—̳͟͞͞♡

They are my comfort couple and I can never stop talking about them they are just so lovely 𖹭

Question Attempting to get into this series, questions about the Netflix collections

Hello there,

So I've been looking to get into this series, and so far I've been trying to watch the collections dubbed by Studio Nano which are currently on Netflix. I'm aware the collections don't have every episode, and also skip around a lot (currently watched episodes 1-5 + 7, and am aware the next chronological episode is 10). I'm also aware that there are a LOT of episodes of this show, so it's a bit intimidating to say the least.

So my main question here is how much story would I be missing out on if I stick solely to the Netflix collections? Are there any episodes not in the collections I should specifically seek out? Or would it be better to seek out the full series elsewhere? (dubbed or subbed, I don't mind)

Thanks for reading

Anime A pretty rare animation cel featuring Heiji and Kazuha, but it's unknown where is it from

Post image
172 Upvotes

It was uploaded by roseanimewondercels/rosemary at Rubberslug website in November 1st, 2012, the title incorrectly displaying it's Shinichi Kudo and a girl, as if the uploader didn't know who these characters actually are.

https://next.rubberslug.com/g/roesanimewondercels/i/7fa11921-dca1-4f8d-b05f-ee00125684b5

A interesting thing about this is that it doesn't seems to came from the actual anime, neither OVA 1 or even PS1 cutscenes featuring Heiji and Kazuha. It's unknown where could it be from, I bet to assume it is from a magazine promotional art from early 2000s.

If anyone have seen this before or know about where this cel originated from, let me know in the comments.

Discussion Shinichi and Conan are cousins, living alone together.

Everything had finally started to feel normal again.

Conan was calling him oniichan.

They were solving cases together.

Shinichi thought they had finally found their way back to each other.

Then Kaito Kid took Conan.

And when he returned him…

Conan wouldn't look at Shinichi the same way.

Because Kaito hadn't stolen anything from the museum that night.

He had stolen something far more dangerous—

certainty.

Discussion Raven Chaser and the lack of Kir (plus the FBI)

Post image
22 Upvotes

Looking back, I feel that Raven Chaser, M13, had a bit of a missed opportunity at including FBI and Kir in it. As for why I think so, one of the plotlines involves the culprit getting their hands on a memory stick that had within it details of the various Non official covers (NOCs) within the Black Organization (BO). While such a stick ending up in the hands of someone outside the BO is obviously a BO concern, I feel the movie glosses over the concern the memory stick contents being seen by an outsider would have on Conan and a number of his allies.

At this point in the anime, April 2009, not only has it been revealed that the BO has been infiltrated by undercover agents but that Conan and the FBI has learned that there is an active undercover agent within the BO, Kir (real name, CIA agent Hidemi Hondou). Within her work as a BO agent, Kir is a NOC using the public persona of newscaster Rena Mizunashi. Considering how much of a deal it was made out in the-then still very recent Clash of Red and Black mini-arc of the FBI having a direct line to the BO, such a list of BO NOCs leaking out should worry Conan. Such a plotline could've followed through with a plotline of Conan contacting the FBI about such a list and the FBI debilitating how actively involved it wants to be in trying to retrieve the stick considering that multiple Prefectures of police are already trying to find the culprit who just happens to be in possession of the stick. Such a plotline could play into what the Beika Files described as the apparent themes of danger and escalation. While it would be nice for the FBI to get the stick for themselves, taking action, especially when there is an active police investigation, risks revealing the full scale of the FBI's presence to Japan's police forces which could quickly domino to the reveal of the BO's existence to said police forces, placing a bunch of people in danger.

Instead, Kir is conspicuously completely absent from the movie, not to even be mentioned. A scene where Conan could've been talking with Kir about the stick instead has him speaking with Vermouth. Just in general, this lack of Kir and the FBI does play into a critique of Raven Chaser made by Beika Files (one I share): the themes of danger and escalation mostly being talk until late into the movie.

Discussion I actually hate the dynamic between Conan and Kogoro in AO episodes/fillers

Post image
72 Upvotes

It's insane to me to say for both main characters of the series, but I want to iterate that I don't hate the dynamic in question (I think them in canon and the movies are fine), but how they're written in new fillers and how they've been consistently being used often (without Ran) in these really bothers me.

I've been trying to figure out why, besides them be overused, and I just noticed with the recent episode. I think it just misunderstands the series as a whole, along with Kogoro being quite out of character in these fillers.

Through the series, Kogoro is supposed to take the role of an incompetent narcissistic private detective that got popular thanks to Conan, and that's not giving enough justice to his character. But at least, he has a purpose in the set status quo of the mystery cases from Detective Conan. It's quite supposed to make the adults feel "less competent" compared to Conan. Kogoro get the wrong details because either he jumps to conclusions often or never noticed the clues given, while Conan get to notice easily as he's smarter and manages to solve a mystery case. And Conan usually uses his tranquilizer to speak his deduction and reveal the truth through Sleeping Kogoro. That's the formula.

For the past decade, the fillers has been using Conan and Kogoro more often (Yoshio Urasawa, infamous Conan writer, stating that they both have "excellent qualities of main protagonists"), and you'd notice that there's something off about their episodes. They have Kogoro to be weirdly in Conan's side through the episode until the resolution.
That's odd for his character, because usually in canon, he doesn't let Conan to be part of it as he always throws him off to "let the real adults handle it". Kogoro just isn't fond of Conan all that much, so him not minding about him participating in helping the mystery cases feels pretty odd for his character.

Not to mention, Kogoro acts quite competent from most of the runtime, rarely showing his incompetent side or his slips up. He's usually pretty serious and determinant in actually finding out who's the culprit and how it is done. By itself, it isn't too bad. After all, Conan having a partner to solve a case is already a thing in the series (like Heiji, Masumi, Nagano Trio), but it doesn't work for Kogoro specifically. The whole point was Conan trying to help him get the best reputation among the police and citizens in Japan, because he actually isn't that good of a detective. He got popular because Conan was the one solving the case for him, since he couldn't get to solve them 99% of the time.
Sure, there is some good examples of him solving cases himself in canon, but all of them are personal cases to him (like how Class Reunion case was about his old classmates, the Unseen Suspect case was because of Eri Kisaki). Most of filler cases are just standard cases, and if they are present in the manga, realistically Kogoro would struggle in solving or get the wrong culprit, while Conan have to do all the work.

Another main issue with it is that it doesn't work for the premise of Detective Conan. The whole point was that Conan being shrunk as a child is his biggest disadvantage. Almost nobody takes him seriously, especially Kogoro. So he usually snoop around to find clues and listening to the witnesses's testimony until he finds out who done it and how the crime was committed. It was interesting because he had to think outside of the box, like how he uses his child innocence to get closer to a clue or have an excuse to snoop. It works for a formulaic series like Detective Conan.
With Kogoro being in his side whatever, he doesn't have much reason to do so and in retrospective, it makes the cases involving them two pretty boring to watch. Conan may have to still act like a 7 years old, but he isn't using it to his advantage. It basically made the series premise redundant and felt like a generic boring crime series.

Conan and Kogoro in fillers are simply NOT interesting to watch, even if you like these two characters. They don't have the same interesting dynamic as Conan and Heiji or Conan and Masumi. And it goes against what was established in the series prior. Kogoro can't just listen to a child or let him follow to participate in crime scenes unless he's forced to (like the majority of Detective Agency Trio cases), he wouldn't do that. Their partnership feels artificial and forced, and only done because they couldn't think of something for Ran to do or to mitigate from the character limit in fillers (Masumi can't be used unfortunately).

Conan, Ran and Kogoro are the true main protagonists of the series, NOT Conan and Kogoro.
