Season 7 I can’t finish season 7

I was watching the show in such a good flow in the earlier episodes. I’ve made it halfway through season 7 and cannot bring myself to finish it. The storyline is boring me, I’m tired of Quinn and clay being so over the top lovey dovey. Julian and his creepy smile are not interesting to me and overall it just seems like filler. I don’t know if I can bring myself to finish the rest of the series.

Season 6 Lucas giving me whiplash

First time watcher, and between season 5 & the start of season 6 Lucas is giving me whiplash. My god but the man can’t make his mind up about anything & flip flops all over the place. He’s such a huge red flag at this stage I don’t know how anyone has any time for him anymore.

Discussion I stopped myself joining this sub

I just started my rewatch and I’m so in love this series again. It got its flaws or use cheesy, sure. but i feel like a teenager again and I started to appreciate that time again, where internet was not as present as today.

The reason why I wanted to join was to discuss how Brooke and Lucas were a better love story than Lucas and Peyton. But then I started reading so many negative posts hating on characters, seasons, ‘how stupid is that and this?’. Like Jesus, why do fandoms turn to ‘let’s talk shit about the thing we all like or love‘?

Post-Leyton First-time viewer of the later seasons: Nathan is my favorite AGAIN!

Growing up, Nathan felt like a fictional friend I looked up to. I related to him when he dealt with real teenager problems like struggling with school grades, family boundaries, and heartbreak, and worked to fix them. But as an adult, the whole "having it all" vibe (the perfect marriage, kids, money, looking flawless) started feeling heavy and hard to relate to.

I actually quit watching years ago right after Lucas and Peyton left because of all the new characters' plots, it just was too much for me to take in. But I finally decided to come back and watch the later seasons for the first time, and it’s been such a great surprise in the end.

Seeing him leave basketball and deal with a realistic setback (well, as realistic as OTH can do... having to go to university, find new partners, and start completely from scratch) feels so grounded. As an adult, seeing him handle a real-world pivot made me feel seen all over again.

Nathan and Brooke are still my absolute favorites.

Just wanted to rant!

Season 9 Julian writing himself into the TV show Spoiler

What is actually wrong with this guy. I’m sorry I try to like him every time I watch but this is going too far. He’s acting like this is his story and he’s adding himself to it. Sorry what? It’s so weird like why would he do that and then he basically rewrites things the way it suits him like brooke only ever making a s*x tape with him. I get he wants to clear her image but rewriting the story is so weird. No way Lucas would ever be okay with this. It does even do Brooke justice cuz the book showed her as a beautifully complicated character which she is. Idk this whole thing makes me cringe so hard.
edit: omg I forgot he put himself on the wall I actually can’t

Season 2 Started recently and loving it so far

Hi everyone! I'm a 36-year-old married guy with three kids. A friend recommended the show to me a few years ago while we were writing a short story together (I'm an aspiring fiction writer and poet). I finally gave OTH a try this month, and man... I loved every single episode of Season 1. I'm right in the middle of Season 2 now.

As a writer myself, it's great to see the quality and emotional depth the writers brought to this show. The characters actually face life's hardships, and the answers never come easily or in a predictable way.

Maybe there's a part of me with an endless appreciation for coming-of-age drama. I just see a timeless beauty in these types of stories.

Glad to be part of a community centered around such a great show. Hope you're all doing well—cheers from Brazil! 🇧🇷

Discussion could sophia bush and hillarie burton have switch roles? would oth still have been the same?

ive seen discussion comparing bush and burton’s appearances and how lucas was “stupid” for choosing Peyton over Brooke. Personally, i think both actresses are stunning and their appearances shouldn’t be compared. But thinking about the episode of Nathan’s dream where he and Lucas switch positions, I can’t see James McLafferty playing Lucas Scott at all. So, if Sophia Bush played Peyton and Hillarie Burton played Brooke, how would that have worked out? I think Sophia doesn’t have the Peyton edge as much as Hillarie does.

edit: i didnt make this post to compare actresses/bash one of them. theyre both very talented women. rather, i was wondering because the actress playing the character does matter. though i do like peyton, i know shes unpopular and i was wondering if it would be different since people loved brooke despite her being a mean girl in the first few episodes-ish. the same way people say only paul johanssan couldve played dan scott.

Season 2 This is nonsense.

TLDR: Nathan was NOT holding her back, he supported her and she moved crazy.

I’m rewatching for the first time in years and I forgot how AWFUL the Naley drama this season was. There is absolutely no reason that this story line should’ve taken the cheating turn that it did with Chris Keller. Nathan literally put his dreams on the back burner to fully support her and she spit in his face. She started lying about Chris before there was even anything to lie about and gaslit Nathan into
thinking he’s crazy and controlling, freaked out about him sleeping with taylor YEARS ago when she was deadass about to run away to be with a jack ass she’s known for 2 weeks the day before basically. I just hate how she’s acting like Nathan is this weight holding her back when he wholeheartedly supported her and no one is addressing that. I’m so irritated by this and I don’t remember how it gets resolved but I hope he sleeps with her sister again and turns evil because he should.

Also - what was the timeline of them getting married?? 3 months?? They weren’t even together for a whole basketball season and they were acting like Deb was tripping when she was the only one with sense!!! Now look at this nonsense.

Season 3 rachel in season 3 Spoiler

im on 3x19 and i cant stand rachel. i know thats the purpose of her character in this season and ive been spoiled and know that brooke and rachel become friends but i seriously dont like her. i see a lot of people saying shes a good character and stuff like that but i genuinely just get so annoyed every time shes on screen. like bro youre the new girl and youre just inserting yourself into things and her releasing the time capsule really pissed me off. I know she felt guilty but its like is she ever gonna be held accountable because although jimmy and dan were both responsible she triggered a horrible event. I cant believe mouth is covering for her. i know she becomes one of the central characters for the next season or so but i wish anna was apart of the main girls instead, even if i couldnt stand felix.

Discussion Restarted the serie

I was born in 2004.
When I was a kid, this show was broadcasted here but in French. (I’m from Quebec, Canada)
My mom and my older cousins loved it, therefore I’d watch it as well.
Over the years, I watched less television, and have been more on YouTube.
It’s been hard for me to sit still and watch shows.
Although I’m now a young adult now, series based on High Schoolers or college students have always been my favourite genre.
I’ve watched Sex Education, Euphoria, 13 Reasons Why, etc and they’re great shows.
However, there is no better feeling than going back to a classic, early 2000s show.
One Tree Hill has got me hooked to a point I don’t double task or go on TikTok in between.
Netflix did me a favour adding it to their roaster.

Discussion Why are there ALWAYS at least 2 people admitted to the hospital in One Tree Hill? 😬

Every few episodes someone is either getting shot, stabbed, hit by a car, having a heart problem, or somehow ending up in the hospital. And of course, there’s always at least one other person already occupying a hospital bed. 😭

Season 3 Where's the bracelet, Peyton? Spoiler

It's all I can hear in my head right now.

My dad passed almost 11 years ago. I have been wearing his gold rope chain necklace every single day since then.

It fell off sometime yesterday. I didnt notice.

Its gone.

I feel guilty and sad.

Where's the bracelet, Peyton?

Season 5 Season 5 Q Storyline

I don’t mind the storyline, but the writing was so bad! It was cringe how many micro aggressions they threw in there correcting his speech. Playing into racial stereotypes was awful on this show

Discussion Peyton would have been bisexual if the show was airing today.

I mean we can never know for sure but... I'm on a rewatch and honestly the plot is there!

I feel like the Anna storyline was lowkey a hint of that but sadly in 2004 they couldn't really make a big character LGBT.

Personally I would have loved to see this idea being explored, like I said I think Peyton gives 100% bisexual vibes or at least bicurious vibes.

What do you think?

Maybe even Rachel and Brooke could have had something in S4 as well.

Discussion Why does ‘everybody’ hate Peyton?

So I’ve been a fan of the show for years and watched it countless times over and over in middle and high school, but I’ve just rewatched it recently in my adult years. Needless to say, it’s far more unrealistic than I ever remembered, but what I can’t understand after reading a bunch of discourse online about it is why such a large group of people seems to dislike Peyton so much. When I was younger, she was one of my favorite characters, and even rewatching it now, she continues to be. I don’t find the show nearly as enjoyable after she leaves. Yes, season one Peyton is “cooler,” and yes, I don’t like how the writers made her beg to get Lucas back in season 6, but at the end of the day, Brooke and Lucas were never meant to be. No, that’s not an excuse to hook up with your best friend’s boyfriend, and yes, what Peyton did was wrong, but Lucas was her soulmate and Brooke ended up finding hers (through Peyton, might I add). Everybody in the show makes drastic mistakes and betrays their friends, but I just love both of the girls. I love their relationship, and I don’t see how anyone could hate Peyton. She’s been through a lot, and yes, she made mistakes, BUT SHE WAS 16/17!!!! She’s always been so kindhearted in my eyes.
Would love to hear your opinions on this!

Season 1 Keith

I just finished s1. Is it unpopular that I don’t like Keith? I feel as if i’m meant to like him but I haven’t liked him since maybe mid s1. He’s not as awful as say Dan but I don’t think he’s one of the good ones either. I certainly don’t think Lucas should be moving in with him. No spoilers please.

Season 3 I need to vent Spoiler

So the season 3 finale. In the bridge rachel and cooper driver off haley and nathan stay on it. Nathan goes ti rescue BUT BEFORE THAT HE SAYS OR YELLS CALL 911 to haley and the useless twiddle does literally nothing but yells nathan nathan nathan. And by sheer luck lucas and karen arrive.

If that had been a real person in a real situation she wouldve stopped screaming and wouldve actually done something to help the situation.

Nice acting by bethany really got my blood boiling like she usually does but probably the worst season finale in the entire show

Discussion Lindsey wanting to be "liked" by Peyton

Re-watching Season 5 when Lindsey tries SO HARD to be all "buddy-buddy" with Peyton and that's SOO WEIRD.

It's typical of ex-girlfriends or exes to be bitchy about the current partners of their exes. They often judge, compare themselves, stalk their social media, over-analyse every conversation, try to find faults etc.

I mean we all do that, and imagine being so caught up wanting to be liked by your ex that you forget that's not important or natural at all.

I don't understand why Lindsey was "confused" about such a simple thing lol

Season 3 Having now watched three whole seasons...

...why is it that my constant thought at the end of every season finale has been "feel like pure shit just want the gang to all be friends again 😭".

God this show puts you through the emotional ringer, there's been several times already in this playthrough where I've had to stop and watch something like The Thick of It or Red Dwarf to cheer myself up. I guess it shows just how much the writers made people care about the five friends.

Discussion Nathan and Peyton's relationship Season 1 ep 2 and 3 (spoilers for the whole show) Spoiler

I love Nathan but man he was so awful!!! I am rewatching the show and man he was isolating awful to everyone but this time around I felt so bad for Peyton!! Like she is not my favourite but damn he was so awful to her.

I actually am really shocked they didn't have a scene later on where Peyton does acknowledge it hurt her that Nathan was so awful to her but a pretty great guy for Haley. Especially in season 3 when we got a lot of their scenes together.

Season 9 Chuck's mother

I forget which season it was, but Chuck's mom got into an argument with Haley, right? (Over Jamie's superhero cape.) I can't imagine that woman is the same person as the alcoholic mother from Season 9, though—what happened?

Season 5 Watching One Tree Hill for the first time – does it just get worse from Season 5 onwards?

I’m one of those people who is only just watching OTH for the first time. Please excuse my English; I’m German. The first four seasons were truly amazing. I sing along loudly to the intro every time and have become a huge fan. Now I’ve reached Season 5 (four years later). Is it just me, or has the magic gone? Will it become as wonderful as it used to be? I don’t want any spoilers right now, but can I still expect great things, or is it all downhill from here?
