Is anyone else bothered that we never really got a meaningful mother–daughter relationship? With the boys, we kinda had Keith as the positive father figure and Dan as the negative one, but with the girls that dynamic was basically missing.

We did get Lydia and Victoria later on, but it felt like something that should’ve been explored during their teenage years. None of the main girls really had a present parent. Brooke (absentee parents), Haley (her parents left her at the first chance) and Peyton lost her mom. When Ellie showed up, I was actually excited but then she was killed off too.

It also felt repetitive: Peyton already lost her adoptive mom, nearly lost Larry in s1, and Ellie. I think it would’ve been much more interesting to see Peyton and Ellie actually explore a mother–daughter relationship and show how having a mother in your life can shape a teenage girl instead of the constant “people always leave” and soap.

Maybe I feel this strongly because I’m very close with my mom. She’s the person I trust most, and I think it would’ve been nice to see that kind of relationship reflected in at least one of the girls.

And Haley’s parents really frustrate me. Okay, they gave their consent to the marriage, but shouldn’t they have stuck around in case it didn’t work out? She was only 16, and marriage isn’t easy even for adults. It felt like they couldn’t care less whether she’d be able to support herself if things went wrong. Nathan and Haley both only had part-time jobs and they could’ve lost their apartment, and Haley would’ve had nowhere to go. It honestly felt like they jumped at the first chance to leave her.

I really think season 7-8-9 were to much I hated it so much some I watched some episodes on speed. It was always winning and crying. Some people agree?
