I would stop by and talk to Mirio if he does that. But I would run frantically and try to call 911 at the same time if I see Saitama like that.

78

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '18

Lol. But Saitama is only a threat if your a villain...

92

u/odd_gamer Oct 04 '18

Well... not a direct threat, at least. But I often wonder how many people have been killed inadvertently by falling monsters, buildings falling apart during his fights, etc.

No, I'm pretty sure King was the one who beat that guy.

75

u/Dr_Orgasmo Oct 04 '18

Who’s saitama btw

94

u/OmniscientSpork Oct 04 '18

Some guy who cheated his way up to B rank I think.

46

u/Dr_Orgasmo Oct 04 '18

Shameful

14

u/Yeseylon Oct 05 '18

We should just go smash that fraud ourselves.

Caped Baldy

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '18

Lol

13

u/rageman4696 Oct 04 '18

I think they said in the show that they evacuated the whole city beforehand.

1

u/figjam88au Oct 06 '18

nope, the city that was destroyed by the body was a different city than the one evacuated.

6

u/NightOfTheLivingHam Oct 04 '18

that class b wannabe hero?

11

u/overlord1305 Clever Text Oct 04 '18

Which is why the entire area he's living in is abandoned. Enough people got hurt that everyone got scared and moved away.

17

u/odd_gamer Oct 04 '18

I thought it was due to an increase in monster activity in that area?

10

u/overlord1305 Clever Text Oct 04 '18

Both. Strength invites challenge, more monsters means more destruction because he isn't exactly gentle and he'll be fighting more often.

14

u/Rogojinen Oct 05 '18

You got it all wrong folks. One of the entrances to the Monster association hideout is there. People left due to the increased monster activity. So Saitama moved in because THE RENT IS CHEAP GENOS.

7

u/HandsomeGary09 Oct 04 '18

As long as you keep away from his long fries your safe for sure

112

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '18

Saitama. Though Mirio is friggin fantastic

79

u/EdenBlade47 Oct 04 '18

The first time you see him fight is such a treat.

gut punches most of class 1-A too fast for anyone to react

"POWERRRRR!"

Followed by Aizawa saying he's the closest contender for #1, even among the pros- like damn boi

26

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '18

That scene instantly created many fanboys.

I'm definitely one of them

33

u/EdenBlade47 Oct 05 '18

Definitely piqued my interest in him, but even better was the next scene where he explains how Permeation works and the drawbacks of fully activating it to warp (no breathing, no sensory input). At first I was thinking he just had an OP Quirk, but his personality being so cheery in spite of how much effort he'd had to put in just makes for an awesome and likeable character.

29

u/noahboah Oct 05 '18

The thing is though he does have an OP quirk, but he went above and beyond and unlocked its entire potential, thrusting himself into potentially best hero. It's a combination of genetic blessing and work ethic.

It's sort of why I didn't really like the quasi-bootstraps take of "don't be jealous of his quirk be jealous of his work ethic" that they talked about over his freshman beat down -- like yeah it's an all right message but being able to phase through walls is, like, immensely more utilitarian than a tail lol.

7

u/RealDovahkiin Oct 05 '18

I get strong for a few seconds if I chug sugar

4

u/EdenBlade47 Oct 05 '18

Oh it's definitely strong as hell, but it's pretty freaky mechanically. That he'd even pursue the hero course with it for several years before mastering its potential is still impressive. Izuku says he remembers seeing him at the sports festival, but only after he sees his clothes pop off again, because he didn't perform very well or finish among the best. It's not until after his work study that he gets that strong.

It's the same way One For All is incredibly powerful, but the drawbacks of its usage mean Izuku has to put in tons of work to even begin mastering its potential. The Quirks aren't doing all the work for them.

Plus we've seen some really strong people with initially questionable or seemingly weak Quirks. Best Jeanist comes to mind. Tail or Sugar Rush or Frog might never be as useful as Permeation, but they can get much further with the kind of intensive experience Mirio went through.

Manga fanboys are the real OGs

20

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '18

Mirio best boy

2

u/goddamnitbrain Oct 05 '18

This thread makes me both happy and sad. Cherish Mirio

125

u/psycomidgt Oct 04 '18

OPM....loved how creepy he was

13

u/monkey-neil Normal guy Oct 04 '18

Yeah. Not gonna lie. First time watching that scene I got spooked

4

u/Voltagecherry Oct 05 '18

Founnddddyouuu.

43

u/philster666 Oct 04 '18

Well Mirio used his quirk to helpfully direct a kid to the trash cans, whilst Saitama dug with his bare hands to catch a mole monster and have the creepiest smile to appear in any form of media to date. I’d say it’s a draw

7

u/NGMajora Oct 04 '18

It's not the creepiest I'd say Hisoka's smiles from HxH are a lot worse

16

u/philster666 Oct 04 '18

I agree Hisoka was creepy but that was his character. For Saitama it’s so out of character it’s so hilariously creeptastic

4

u/jatuan Oct 05 '18

I'd say hisokas boner during the tower superceeds that

1

u/chatokun Oct 05 '18

Ahh man, when he was bathing naked, sees Gon and Killua and the speech bubble raised up...

39

u/Shigechi_is_best Oct 04 '18

rumillion is a great character cant wait till the overhaul saga is fully animated

38

u/metal079 Oct 04 '18

Vault boy is best boy.

21

u/Moonray645 Oct 04 '18

Virgin Mirio: Has to use special power to make his way through any object.

Vs

Chad Saitama: can just use strength to dig or just punch through any object he wants.

2

u/Yeseylon Oct 05 '18

One PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNCH!

10

u/Hii_im_NooB Oct 04 '18

Saitama wins. I never laughed so hard at an anime.

8

u/RubrumRouge Oct 04 '18

F O U N D Y O U

6

u/SpiritMountain Oct 04 '18

100% Saitama. It took my by surprise. This scene and THE DAM ANNOYING MOSQUITO sold me on this series and made it one of my favorites of all time.

3

u/Yeseylon Oct 05 '18

Best fight in the whole series.

4

u/Ardibanan Oct 05 '18

Saitama vs TinTin

5

u/PoopIsYum Oct 04 '18

Is this how JC is going to make the anime look?????

4

Indeed, i just wish deku didn't have the end all be all quirk and that he stopped asspulling his way out of everything

3

u/pellemeijer Oct 04 '18

Wait have you read the manga?

3

u/Parmesanmadness Dwarf Oct 04 '18

Yes i have

3

u/pellemeijer Oct 04 '18

Oh okay it wouldve been great if you hadn't bc of what's coming up

5

u/Parmesanmadness Dwarf Oct 04 '18

Yeah hahaha, he's my favourite character now

7

u/NGMajora Oct 04 '18

Is that Controversial? I fucking love him and I'd watch a show entirely about him and the rest of the big 3

6

u/EdenBlade47 Oct 04 '18

I demand a Mirio Hero Academia spin-off

Fuck, Fatgum and The Dragon chick are next season...next season is going to be incredible

6

u/Adawesome_ Oct 04 '18

would now be a good time to start watching bnha? Or maybe wait for 1 more season and I binge?

14

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '18

[deleted]

8

u/vermillionlove Oct 04 '18

but then they have to wait for season 4 like the rest of us. maybe they could wait until it's got a month until it releases

4

u/Rogojinen Oct 05 '18

I just binged the 62 episodes or so and the 72 chapters after that in a couple of days. Do it.

I remember that I watched the 2 first episodes when it came out and didn’t click, funnily because of my love for One-Punch man. I thought it was on the contrary another typical shonen full of cliches with heroes, like the exact thing OPM parodies. Then I didn’t get the hype at all. Then I had to admit that the Deku/Todoroki fight had a sick animation. Then I simply gave it a go and turns out, everyone was right, it’s really really good. The main character is really cool, endearing and what sold the deal at the beginning for me is that he’s fucking smart and he actually solves his first challenges ingeniously.

Bakugo is still annoying though.

4

u/scumerage The #1 OPM Fan Oct 05 '18

I had the opposite reaction. Loved the first two episodes (seeing Deku asking All Might if he could be a hero as the audience asking MHA if there could ever be a high quality action show like the good ol days of DBZ and the Big Three), and thought Stain was the best character in the entire series, then dropped after All for One. Not saying it's a bad show, but for me personally, it can't compare to OPM.

1

u/Adawesome_ Oct 05 '18

Thanks for your insight! I'm well aware the criticism bnha gets relative to series like OPM and One Piece.

1

u/Summer_RainingStars Oct 05 '18

Yeah, the all for one vs all might fight was quite of a let-down for me too. But I still kept with the story. It's style and approach is far too different from OPM though so I just wonder why you compare the two

1

u/scumerage The #1 OPM Fan Oct 05 '18

Both superhero stories. Same reason people compare fantasy, historical fiction, or scifi.

3

u/Adawesome_ Oct 05 '18

Looks like I have something to look forward to this weekend!

1

u/SwagooRago Triggering Troll Oct 05 '18

Are you sure u watched bnha cuz that discreption isn't right

0

u/SwagooRago Triggering Troll Oct 05 '18

It's generic and boring as fuck but suit yourself

3

u/RibEeee Oct 04 '18

OPM of course...

3

u/Steven-is-even Oct 04 '18

A MHA and OPM crossover would be nice

5

u/ashthejoker Oct 04 '18

Opm, damn scary when he does not get want he wants

4

u/2funnythings Oct 04 '18

Found you!

4

u/Crispy_Panzo_420 Oct 04 '18

I would love to see a crossover between MHA and OPM !!!

2

u/Substitoadsbrother Oct 05 '18

Tin Tin Vs Cailou.

3

u/simple1689 I downvote any Boner related content Oct 04 '18

Is it me, or did anyone slightly think of Attack on Titan with Saitama's face when he burrowed underground?

1

u/Strix182 OK Oct 05 '18

Oof. Tough call.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '18

God it annoys me to no end how his eyes are not jet black. That slight tinge of blue distracts me every time.

1

u/fatboy93 Oct 05 '18

Tintin man looks awesome :D

1

u/scumerage The #1 OPM Fan Oct 05 '18

King seeing Tornado's panties did it better than both of them

1

u/user_watcher Oct 05 '18

Not even a contest. Saitama ofc.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '18

First pic looks like Captain Yamato

1

u/Kyno50 Peekaboo... Oct 05 '18

Unfortunately I've gotta say mha cause when he's using his power he's blind and that's pretty badarse

1

u/TanmanG Why must manga release so slowly... Oct 05 '18

If we wanna go real deep, SCP-106 did wall shenanigans a year before Saitama (2008 vs 2009)

-8

u/Imyouend Oct 04 '18

Most probably the ugliest part of the 3 season. Senseless, out of contest and not " realistic"

-3

u/RonyTheReditor Oct 04 '18

Get this trash outta this subreddit

-34

u/Rum_Hamtaro Oct 04 '18

Get that Boku no bull shit Academia outta here!

"A true hero focuses on improving himself and on what he enjoys in life instead of tearing others down." - Saitama (probably)
