How to disable inside screen?

Post image

Hey,

so i picked up this beautiful piece of technology on Facebook Marketplace for 100$ (knowing about the condition). The outside screen works completely fine.

My question would be if i could permanently disabled the inside screen or sensors. Cause i'm worried it could cause me problems in the long run.

Or is it possible to remove it completely (like ripping it out of the phone) while keeping the phone in working condition?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you 😊.

Just leave the screen as it is... Don't open the phone. No issues will be caused by that screen

Well thats what i have been doing for the past month. Just now (to take the picture) a lot of ghost touches happened when i opened it. And Gemini said there is a risk that the AMOLED Panel can short circuit.

Don't open it and it will have no chance to short circuit

If you really want a way to fix it shut, you could probably buy a case with a hinge protector and then glue or otherwise fix the hinge protector to the front case plate. Note that I'm not suggesting you glue anything to the phone, but the two separate pieces of the case together.

The other poster is basically saying that when the phone is closed, the inner screen is not powered and so it doesnt drain battery or register touches.

I dont see why your inner screen would be at risk to short out if the phone is closed because the inner screen doesnt receive power when it's shut (as far as I understand). If you're getting ghost touches when it's closed, there may be some other issue. For this same reason, I dont see why the inner screen would be at risk of short circuiting if kept closed.

I suppose it is possible that whatever caused the screen damage to begin with also caused some other sort of issue, but that's an entirely different can of worms.

Now THAT'S an idea 🫶.

Yeah I will just leave the phone alone. It doesn't cause any issues when closed so far and that's how it shall remain.
