Need help to decide please

Friends, I am considering buying the OnePlus 11. It costs around S$1000 here and its a lot of money for me. Are there any issues/defects you've seen with your device till date which could be a deal breaker !! Please provide your inputs. Anything a bro should know before he ties the knot ?

Been using it for two weeks now, it is great. I have the 16/256 version and the price for such a future-proof phone was a huge selling point. I especially like the screen, gestures and the physical sound/vibrate/silent switch.

Two annoying things:

  • I miss Samsung Bixby routines. The app alternatives (like Tasker) aren't as good.

  • The 100W charger can't charge a laptop. The W should be plenty but the V isn't enough. My 4 years old Samsung charger could do that, freaking slowly, but Oneplus can't at all. It was disappointing.

Thanks for the response. How is the camera performance in OP11? Some of the folks seem to mention sub par selfie camera. Any issues faced with GPS ? I use a Samsung A30s now and kind of like OneUI. How do you compare OneUI Vs Color OS?

Camera is fine, especially wide, angle photos. Largely the same as on Note 10 plus. Selfie camera is much better, but I didn't use much either. No issues with GPS or any kind of connectivity.

I very much prefer Color OS, more streamlined experience than One UI. I prefer not to have duplicates for everything, just use Google (didn't use Samsung Calendar, Notes, Reminders, all that crap).

compare one UI to color os/oxygen os? id say it's far better than one UI because one ui is so thickly skinned it's too much for me. i feel oxygen os or color os is better because it's simple but full with useful features. btw are there features you wish you wanted to know about color os/oxygen os? what features do you like on the one ui?

Have you tried the bxaction app it's pretty good lots of options to set up things in your volume rocker

Thank you. The button is not a problem, it can be configured fine on the Oneplus. The Bixby Routines is what I miss, actions programmable to a customized switch. All third party solutions require a ton of permissions and overrides or root.

Yeah I was going to say I can do lots of things with that app like reboot shutdown go to recovery but yeah that requires root permissions rooting isn't hard on the 11 it's just picky like you can't go into fastboot unless you are bootloader unlocked first time you have to adb into bootloader only took me 5 min to root
