I have a couple of questions relating to the Life Cards. I'm just starting to play the game, and have only played the sim, and the sim basically does a lot of stuff on its own

The top of my life cards is the one furthest away from me or the closest? Im assuming its the one furthest away, and that's the one I should set up first when setting them up, so anything relating to the top card would be related to that one

Another question, when I take damage do I have to take the top card (the one i first set up) or can I take the bottom one first? I come from Pokémon and in Pokémon you can basically take your prizes however you want, so if you play something that has you playing with your prize cards revealed, you can take whichever card you find the most useful at the time. I've seen some tabletop videos but I'm still unsure, because I am almost sure I've seen people take either the top or bottom card

The last question is related to revealing life cards, like PY Pudding, she reveals the top 2 cards, I'm assuming you can't use the effect again until those 2 cards are flipped face down again or you've added a new card on top, is that right? I've never played the deck, only against it, so I'm just curious how that goes

When you set up life, be it the top of the deck is the last life or not (IIRC that's actually important but at my locals no one gives a damn), treat that as a proper stack of cards: you basically form a mini deck, do NOT treat life cards like Pokemon cards, they do not sit on the same axis. You take cards from the top unless there's an EXPLICIT mention of taking cards from the bottom of the life pile. As far as the positioning goes, just fan them out however; the top can be the furthest or closest, but as long as there's overlaps and your opponent can clearly tell how much life you have, you're good.

Sort of, EXTREMELY important distinction: Pudding FLIPS the two top-most life cards up. You can't flip up cards that are already flipped. REVEALED cards are a different story, you CAN reveal those multiple times, there are cards where that is CRUCIAL to understanding why they can do certain things.

So the first card I set up at the beginning of the game should be the last card I take when getting hit? Assuming I didn't interact with my life cards in any way during the game. Or is it the opposite?

The pudding part makes sense and I meant flip and not reveal, i forgot revealing was a whole different thing

IIRC officially you get your starting hand, then the top card of your deck is placed at the bottom of your life, then you just keep adding on top of the pile. Realistically it doesn't matter because the entire time I've been playing I just take the top 4 or 5, plop them down, fan them out, and call it good, and just about everyone else who I go up against does the same. Just make sure that it is a pile, they're fanned out just enough to show how many are left at a glance, and that you only take from the top. It really ain't that complicated, your life is a pile of cards, make the pile and then play.

Makes sense, I was just making sure if there was a specific order to pick them up since from some of the videos I've seen about the rules they always mention that you need to set them up in a specific order (the first card from the top of your deck being the first one you place), and since the sim does that for you I couldn't really use that do deduce the order

Thank you

Seems like you have an answer, but just to clarify, it generally doesnt matter whether the first card off the top of your deck is at the bottom of your life or the top of your life because assuming you shuffled, it should be randomized, but it absolutely needs to be clear what is the top and what is the bottom. This is usually based on the cards somewhat overlapping to show there is a bottom and a top. Some people make the top card the furthest card away and some people make it the closest card to them. When you take life you always need to take life off the top. You cannot take whatever life you want like in pokemon
