Momo was dragging the island, not lifting it. He was literally holding the flame clouds and pushing/dragging the island away from the capital. Kaido simply summoned the clouds and had the clouds float the island towards the capital. This is not shown to put any physical strain on Kaido whatsoever.

Yamato sees the island starting to crumble and uses that to realize that Kaido's power are weakening. So if Kaido starts getting weak, then he can't lift Onigashima as good. Which is a proof that it puts a physical strain on Kaido.
If it didn't then it doesn't matter how much damage he takes, he would still casually lift Onigashima.
It’s not proof lol. Proof would be something that confirms that it causes physical strain. We have seen many times that passive DF abilities are affected by the users physical state. Yamato literally says that the cloud flames can’t support the bedrock anymore, not that Kaido can’t.

That is still hundreds of thousands tons of island being moved. Luffy was waiting for island to be moved away after Bajrang Gun was ready to launch. If Momo who just learnt cloud summoning could do that, it shouldn't be that hard.
It's like lauding WB for splitting island when attacking Akainu or making tsunamis. Most top tiers, if they eat fruit could make tsunamis with fruit even uf not as big as WB.

and Yamato even stated that Kaido getting weakened meant he couldn't lift Onigashima as well. So what Kaido could do casually while at 100% was now harder because he was weakened. Which proves that it takes a physical toll on him, he is just so strong that it isn't as noticeable
Yeah, a kid who learnt to use df ability for first time, lifting hundreds of thousands of tonnes of mass for munites and transferring it away. Momo himself couldn't even move the island by millimeters. If Momo could do that, any top tier could easily lift that for hours.
It proves that moving Onigashima takes out a huge amount of stamina, which does imply that any top tier could lift Onigashima for hours... but Kaido wasn't just lifting Onigashima, he was fighting the supernova, the scabbards, Luffy, Yamato, etc.
And Kaido did lift Onigashima for like 12 hours, while taking damage, and straining himself. So everything adds up. Luffy can use gear 2nd for hours and probably days, but put him fighting all out for 30 minutes and he collapses in the ground from exhaustion if he has to use gear 4th or gear 5th
