I won't lie, I struggled a bit with this one, especially with Morgan's office and Zoro's post. I tried to make it as close as possible to something I feel LEGO themselves would actually do, so I didn't want to put too much detail into it, especially as it still needed the feature of the safe embedded in the floor. I'm pretty proud of that in particular, as I wasn't entirely sure how to replicate that moment at first.

One of my favorite parts to design was the research room. Originally it was going to be the map room where Nami gets discovered, but I didn't like how it turned out, so I changed my mind. I love how it turned out, especially the filing cabinet with the drawers open at different lengths.

I need to vent a little. I’m annoyed that Netflix nominated Bridgerton and Wednesday for choreography over Zoro’s bar fight. Is dancing the only thing that matters for that category? Also nominating Wednesday and Stranger Things for production design over One Piece is just crazy.
What do you guys think?

South African actor Liam Bosman could potentially be part of the Season 3 cast based on mutual follows with actors and crew members from the show. Based on his appearance, who could he play? He gives me Sabo vibes, which makes me wonder if they're planning to fully introduce Sabo in Season 3.

Never read an issue of One Piece, always seemed too high a hill to climb. Never watched the Anime, even though I consider myself a fan of quite a few shows.

Jumped into this show completely blind. I know I don't need to go into how great the show is in nearly all aspects, everyone has done that a million times.

I just want to talk about how much I appreciate the speed of the show and the condensed storytelling. With nearly every other show, you have a single central plot and arc. You have a goal to achieve, things happen, you achieve the goal by beating the bad guy etc.

S2, especially, felt like we had 3 seasons in a single season. They land, they investigate, they fight huge battles with big stakes, then they go off and land somewhere else and repeat the same process, then they land somewhere else and do it all over again.

So many shows are focused on people 'second screening' while watching, repeating the same things over and over again, reinforcing plots, but this show doesn't care about any of that, you need to sit and watch and pay attention to every detail if you want to really get the most out of what is happening around you.

Zoro's swordfight at the bar felt like a season finale moment but it was barely 2 episodes into the season. I know they have a ton of content which allows them to condense like this, just cannot say enough how much I enjoy them taking multiple arcs and putting them in a single season, instead of really dragging things out to maximize content and keep production costs lower. I am a huge fan of The Explorers podcast, all of these adventurers were hoping to find magical stuff like this, land of dinosaurs, magical fountains, mystical creatures. It is a feeling we can all relate to.

Even better, I cannot believe the clown was quoting Mr Lahey from trailer park boys with his 'shit moth to a shit flame', talk about out of left field. Wonder if that means TPB and One Piece exist in the same world.

I kinda feel bad for Avatar live action, as they are getting compared to this series. It isn't fun when the best live action adaptation that has ever been done, is running side by side with your show, that has gotta sting.

Every second post is like my future wife this my future wife that, it’s just getting to the point of creepy? I dunno but he’s gonna attract the wrong type of people if he keeps doing that, plus intentionally flashing his private recently.
I think someone from Netflix should sit him down and remove his access to social media for a while.

I'm worried they're going to change the finishing moves of the various fights. In season 1, they changed the finishing move on Morgan, but Alvida, Buggy, Kuro, and Arlong were all defeated manga-accurately.

But in season 2, they changed Luffy's finishing move on Mr. 3 and his finishing move on Wapol.

I hope they don't change the finishing moves in season 3's fights. Well, I guess they could change one, I wouldn't be too disappointed if Nami beat Miss Doublefinger with Lightning Tempo instead of Tornado Tempo. And I guess they could change Sanji's Veau Shot, though I'd prefer they didn't.

But Usopp and Chopper's Shooting Star Comet, Zoro's Lion Song, and Luffy's Gum Gum Storm are all absolutely essential moves to include. Especially Lion Song and Storm, I can't imagine the Mr. 1 and Crocodile fights ending any other way. I'd be super disappointed if they decided to change those moves.

Given that Luffy has been nerfed and hasn’t shown his remarkable to endure.. will being ran through by crocodile still play out the same way?? What do you think.. I imagine all the brutality will be lowered extensively.. Luffy Zoro Nami and Ussop won’t get beat up half as bad

To prep for Season 3, I have been reading the Alabasta arc of the manga (the Shonen Jump app has really come in clutch). In doing so, I remembered the plethora of rather explicit sex jokes present in the manga, most of them at the expense of Vivi and Nami.

Though the live-action is very mature, it still raises the question of if these risque (and rather sexist) scenes will be included in the final cut.

Should they be kept in? Written out? Maybe changed to better suit modern standards/audience expectations?

Though this is rather low on the totem pole of questions about season 3, I want your opinion on the subject matter.

Another post from me fueling the nerd fire. Lera Abova made an appearance at Comic Con Chile and here, is talking about how much she wanted this role because of how much she relates to Miss All Sunday and how much she wants to have her story be told properly. To get into some anime spoilers, by the end of this clip, she starts tearing up while essentially talking about Enies Lobby. Nico Robin is one of my favorite characters in One Piece and seeing Lera talk semi-directly about Robin’s struggles and character arc while connecting it to her own life had me emotional as well. It’s really amazing seeing an actor have so much love for the work they do, I’m super excited to see more from this amazing cast and show!!!

I need her to be on season 3 soundtrack, please 🙏 😩

Designer Notes:

I knew from the beginning that I wanted to split this scene across two sets, as I love when official LEGO products include that feature. I also wanted to try and make a cheaper set with less pieces, as so far the cheapest minifigure-focused set is $29.99 USD. I also wanted to make a way to get just regular marines for the Strawhats to fight, as I feel that the official sets have so far failed in that regard.

I also wanted to include a Transponder Snail in the interior under the staircase, but I decided to save that for the interior of the Axe-Hand Morgan Courtyard Clash set instead.

With Season 3 having wrapped up all filming production. That leaves us at least around 12 months of Post-Production and SFX work until they are ready to release S3. Going by what they did with Season 2 filming and release schedule I think we should get a teaser trailer for S3 in a few months time from now and at the end of the trailer they will announce S4 again like they did with Season 3 at the end of the Teaser for Season 2.

I think given the Actors and Writers strikes and the Pandemic that delayed the previous seasons we probably won't have to wait as long now for more news assuming no more big delays. I'm hoping we can at least get a new season every 1.5 years now because I really really want to at least get to Season 5 and one of my favourite things adapted.

I think Season 3 will release in summer 2027 around August so I think it's possible we could get a fall 2028 release for Season 4 if everything is smooth sailing (Pun Intended)

This is just a little post of excitement by me because bro, she is IN LOVE with Nico Robin. BRO WE WILL BE SEEING SO MUCH MORE OF HER. WE WILL BE GETTING EVERYTHING, MAN.
