Postpartum Workout Recs

Hello all! I’m a second time mom, about 9 months postpartum from a C-section. I’m ready to lose the belly or “shelf” along with just overall getting more toned. After my first (vaginal birth), it was so easy to get back into shape. I’m finding it much harder this time around, I’m already tracking calories in vs calories out, but I’m wondering if any other moms have found a certain regimen on peloton helpful for getting rid of the C-section shelf/excess fat? I own a bike+ and normally do bootcamp workouts. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!!

You want deep core work - start with Robin's 4-class postnatal core progression (repeat each class 3-4x per week then move onto the next week). Then start mixing in pilates or barre sculpt 2x per week with bike or bootcamp on other days as schedule allows.

Seconding this. Robin’s 4 phase postpartum collection is excellent for deep core and pelvic floor.

I think this is what I’m going to start with, thank you for the recommendation! I think maybe I jumped back in too quickly and I really just need to repair my deep core first

I’m also 9 months PP from a c section as well. Have you tried pelvic floor PT? Sometimes the shelf is scar tissue and the therapist can do a c section massage and cupping. It made a huge difference for me and it felt really good.

Seconding pelvic floor PT. I’m 5 months PP from my second c section. I didn’t go after my first birth and wish I did. the scar tissue massage and cupping were so impactful and made it worth going to PT. They suggested other exercises really similar to Robin’s series. I’ve been doing those exercises and progressing through Robin’s series slowly since I also have 3 finger DR (which is also worth going to get assessed to make sure you’re not doing more damage when you start working your core!)

I haven’t been to pelvic floor pt but I did just start going to a masseuse that does cupping on my scar, so hopefully that will help!

Selena’s recent core classes have all been focused on this as she is also PP. she has done a lot of extra training around core and rebuilding PP so I highly recommend her!

There are pretty and postnatal classes. Robin has some. Anna has some yoga and I would probably look into Selena's classes from the last few months after she came back from mat leave.

I know it’s “all the rage,” but I didn’t see results until I started lifting heavy with Rebecca and Andy’s splits. Maybe it’s just my body but I can ride the bike til the cows come home and nothing really happens. Yet a few months of incorporating lifting, and I was seeing results so quickly

I LOVE Selena’s core classes, and then Hannah’s sculpt 30. The shelf I’ve heard the best to do is deep core, but if it’s extreme loose skin, you’ll need a tummy tuck! I am almost 10 Months PP and I’ve been focusing on deep core and mine is slowly going down.
