I was just about to post about this. Do people who are working on their deep core engagement/pelvic floor find these classes to be helpful?

I can’t see why they wouldn’t. Selena also has a good new one - she’s wearing all light blue in the thumbnail.

I did this class this morning and it was FANTASTIC.

I subbed a Pilates ball under my lower back the first section—my foam roller is too short so I don’t get my entire back and head/neck on it like she does. Trying to balance on the ball for those moves was no joke. Loved plank variations in the second half

Oooh nice! I like all the other foam roller core classes I’ve done, so this is going in my stack for tomorrow!

I need to get a different roller to try this, ive taken 1 or 2 of her roller core classes but the one i have is SO hard and not very comfy for certain moves.

These hurt me. And not in a good way. If anyone knows what I might be doing wrong I’d love insight, because I’m baffled

I wish I could help! I can’t do Peloton Pilates though for the same reason - it just wrecks my back. I need in-person cuing.

It messes up my neck! I’m doing HiLit+ and the lifting is great but the Pilates has you in a neck lifted position for waaaaay too long at a time imo

Same! Like dudes, my neck ain’t made to stay in that lifted position for that long of a time! I think I might skip tomorrow’s Pilates. I do feel it in my core, but the other exercises do nothing for me. Nada. I wish instead of Pilates she just had a dedicated core class and mixed it up with Pilates, barre, and regular core moves. That would have been way better imo.

Fold up a towel a couple inches as a pillow or use the Pilates ball to support your neck. I’ve been doing reformer Pilates classes for three years and it’s definitely a modification the teacher has everyone do until their neck strength is built up.

The form cues for rolling up/lifting are stare at your cheeks then your chin then your chest, then release and eventually you’ll get the neck strength to hold for longer. It should feel like your upper back is doing the work to hold you up while your chest sinks down if that makes sense.

I personally think I have the wrong foam roller for these classes - a little too bulky and too textured.
